Not impressed...

A magazine called SCIENTIFIC American citing CFSC and EWG as legit sources. I expect better than fear mongering by a publication that is supposed to be reporting science. Saying these two lobbying groups are home to accurate scientific information is the ultimate example of hipster irony. haha im wearing a d.a.r.e shirt and smoking pot lol its so ironic
  • Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I'm posting this on the blog tomorrow.
  • Thank you I was very disappointed is Scientific American a respected publication in the scientific community? As a feminist I have been reading articles on Breast Cancer Awareness month and pinkwashing and they keep bringing up that the Susan G Komen used to make a perfume that was discontinued because it was toxic and they keep saying that makeup that is donating some profits to charity is the exact thing that is killing women from this deadly disease. I expect better from feminists groups are supposed to be supporting valid research and most of the time do.

"This Komen Foundation Perfume was discontinued because it contained a chemical classified as toxic."

Also was very disappointed in this article by Bitch and also found it classist that they are recommending all these expensive unaffordable things when feminists are supposed to be reaching for equality for all people. I don't know many working women who can shell out the dough for skin irritating, over fragrance crap and take the time out to make their own soap or buy personal care stuff and makeup off etsy when you have no idea of the hygienic standards they have been made in or lack of hygiene. The products off etsy are often unprofessional and overpriced to me anyway. http://gaia-health.com/gaia-blog/2011-10-09/pinkwashing-reaches-new-low-with-toxic-perfume-that-can-cause-breast-cancer/

(would not put much stock into a site that treats psychiatry a recognized medical profession as if it were a scam, my psychiatry  was an amazing and caring professional and he saved my life... well actually I wouldn't get any)

Maybe you could talk about since its Breast Cancer Awareness Month that the accusations against the cosmetic industry on a very devastating disease.
  • been reading more about EWG and the scientific american article and
would like to ask why these groups are so against chemicals and are
spreading wrongful information? Are they involved in 'natural' skincare
    and other care products production?
