I have been reading a lot of criticisms lately of how pink ribbon makeup and perfume are full of the very chemicals that will give you breast cancer. Why is there so much finger pointing at things such as cosmetics and so little innovative research being done? I think it is very inflammatory and offensive to breast cancer survivors to tell them that the beauty companies are out to kill them and insulting to cosmetic chemists as if they are out to cause this disease. I wonder what the beauty brains thoughts are on this it seems to be everywhere these days. http://thinkbeforeyoupink.org/?page_id=1627 http://safecosmetics.org/article.php?id=749 This is ridiculous. I dont think survivors of this cancer should basically be blamed and have people tell them if they didnt wear makeup or deodorant they would have never got it. Maybe you are a survivor or know someone who is that has been stressed out and thinking the things they eat and clean themselves with are going to hurt them or kill them. I have a neighbor who is an older lady my brother and her grandson went to their cottage on the lake and on the boat and she wouldnt let them use sunblock the whole time and my brother was outside for 8 hrs or more and he was a red tomato my dad was pissed. She says only the organic stuff doesnt cause cancer but she doesnt have it so she thought it was better to let two 9 year olds get a really bad cause of sunburn.
I'm into healthy living and whole foods and folks on those forums blame processed foods for cancer, which I agree with on a certain level. What I'm trying to say it's all relevant to what people are into
been reading more about EWG and the scientific american article and would like to ask why these groups are so against chemicals and are spreading wrongful information? Are they involved in 'natural' skincare and other care products production?
http://www.xojane.com/issues/what-next-in-the-name-of-breast-cancer-awareness "Many of the products marketed as part of the movement are actually carcinogens, in a rare stroke of absurdity." This seems to be a common thing to come up every breast cancer awareness month. I hate seeing scientific ignorance perpetuated by people who actually do have a good point.
