Did you hear of the recall on this sunblock?
How does this work, what makes it combustible and how much of a danger is it?
  • I did hear about this. It looks like one of the solvents is being applied to the skin in such a thick layer that it doesn't drive fast enough. That means if you came in contact with an ignition source after applying this product there's enough residual material on the skin that it could start on fire.
  • @ Right Brain - proofreading is a good thing.  ;)
  • As usual, I blame Siri. It's easy to dictate o the go. Not so easy to fix mistakes!
  • @ Right Brain - you dictate on the go and the part that comes through "doesn't DRY fast enough" reads " doesn't DRIVE fast enough". There is a bit of irony there, I think!

I read the article about the Banana Boat spray on sunscreen when it was first posted on news outlets. Scary stuff. I think I will stick with the lotion variety of sunscreen....
  • I hate spray on sunscreen anyways just dont feel I get full coverage. I feel bad for the person who maybe lit a smoke and caught on fire, my dad smokes a lot but hes also very good to regularly apply sunblock. he works outside all the time on roads and hes the only guy at work who bothers with sunblock. they used to tease him but he said my mother had skin cancer and i aint dying from it so they shut up.
  • According to dermatologists spray on sunscreens are effective IF you spray on liberally and rub the sunscreen in.
