Dry Lips - Any Magic Tricks?
  • I have an occasional bad habit of biting and/or licking my lips when nervous.  Apparently I've been doing it a lot recently because suddenly my lips have become PAINFULLY dry.  Not chapped, just dry and the skin feels tight.  Acidic liquids make them sting.  Lips balms and coconut oil are only a very temporary fix.  It's not dehydration.  Anyone have any tricks that might solve the problem?  It's very uncomfortable and distracting!
  • That sounds really bad I would consider going to the derm...  Good luck! When I went on my accutane the derm basically said to load on the lip balm. You may just have to put it on more or find the perfect lip balm. The best I ever used is lypsol.
  • I am also Suffering with Same Problem. I almost Chewed up my Lips.
  • Drying out of lips might be due to changing season and cold( cough and cold). drink plenty of water, it will keep your body hydrated and will prevent your lips from drying too.
  • try creams with lipids like La Roche-Posay, that was the only thing that fixed my extra dry skin issues
  • i swear by coconut oil. its great, i love it, its cheap, natural and it multitasks, you can use it anywere, its great for a dry sore nose too!  i put it in a used eyedropper container and carry it everywhere i go.
  • eyedropper tip only works in warm climate, in colder climates (<20C) it will solidify, coconut oil is never enough for my lips, it's too thin and absorbs too quickly
