Carol's Daughter Monoi Line promises a 96% reduction after the first use
  • I know this is all hype but I did buy the product because of the smell then I began to wonder how could one know if there was a 96% reduction in breakage after one use. I'm guessing the hydrolyzed silk is supposed to help prevent breakage.  After one use I noticed a lot of dryness but I did try the product a few more times to ensure it wasn't a fluke.  Here's the advertised hype from their website:

  • I haven't tried this line, but heard a lot of great reviews. I always wanted to try it, but they don't sell it in my whole foods
  • We just wrote a post that talked about how strengthening/breakage reduction claims are supported for hair products: http://thebeautybrains.com/2012/11/29/does-the-aveda-invati-system-really-work/

Although 96% sounds like a lot, many good conditioners will give similarly high numbers depending on how the test is done. Pantene and Tresemme, for example, will work the same.
  • Thanks, I'll check it out!
