Best dark spot whitening treatment?
  • I'm looking at Kiehl's Dark Spot corrector, La Roche-Posay pigment control, Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Whitening Recovery Complex and maybe something from SkinCeuticals? I'm not sure what to look for as I have used a serum with high l-arbutin concentration with very small results and I want something better. I'm 25 with religious use of spf50 pa+++ for 5 years and I have difficulties with fading acne scars and just general freckles (definitely sun damage and not natural freckles that other people get). I have fair skin, something in between mac 15 and 20. Is kojic acid something I should make sure in included or maybe there's other ingredients?
  • I would like info about this, too. I've used hydroquinone and faded my spots quite a bit, but now I need to take a break from it.
  • Hydroquinone is something I'm not going to try yet :) I will go for Kiehl's one as it worked for my mum, in 2 weeks she already noticed good results. She also used the same l-arbutin serum for 2 years and it calmed her rosecea very well, but whitening wasn't that great. I figured genetics and all that, if it worked for her bigger chance it will work for me too as we have very similar skin. BTW we both don't tan, last time she tanned was when she was 15, she's 45 now, she's fair mac 20, a bit darker than I am. Why are we getting this hyperpigmentation/freckles.sundamage/sun spot? She wears spf50 religiously now as well, she hasn't for the most part of her life, but she's mostly indoors and doesn't drive.
  • Hi, hydroquinone has been banned in Asia and in the European Union, because has been judged unsafe. Another product you could try is K5 Lipogel, with pidobenzone (www.fc-store.com)

  • Lady Hawke stop your fear mongering we are educated beauty product consumers.
  • Hi.. I've had the same problem as well, however my skin has improved tremendously after using products by Cellnique. You may want to try them. Hope this helps. :)

  • I have been using Cellnique for over a year and a half now. Im truly pleased with the results. I'll definitely continue using cellnique. I wished i had discovered this brand years ago, but im glad it is still not too late as my skin is becoming better and better each day. They have another sister brand called B.liv, their Japan silk mask is a must try!
