What works on fine lines ? Microdermabrasion ? Photophacial? Miracle Creams?
  • Hello ! I am 22 and recently went to a spa for a free consultation. It was recommended that I try the photophacial with the microdermabrasion. It is pricey lets say over $300. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried these procedures and how it went? I am considering it.  I am mostly interested in removing the fine lines on my forehead and the fine lines under my eyes !! I feel that I am too young to have those. Its beginning to look leathery. AAAAHHHH ! Its scary ! I would totally go for it if I had a guarantee that it has worked for other people !! Any personal experiences would be great. Also any more info on the photophacial, I wonder if it does what it claims to do. Help please. Also if you have any suggestions on an eye cream that truly helps with the fine lines, leathery look !! Thank you !
  • I've had professional microdermabrasion. I will help with fine lines but it won't remove them permanently. Also, it's usually done as a series. You go weekly for 6 or 8 visits. I don't really start noticing a difference until after the 3rd or 4th visit. I don't know anything about photofacials so I can't say if $300 is a reasonable price.
  • I've had one microdermabrasion treatment that was a freebie from my dermatologist. I really have noticed a slight improvement in fine lines. He recommends a series of six, every 30 days, since that is approximately how long it takes the upper layers of the epidermis to shed for adults.
  • Thanks you guys I'm going to ask them if its a one time thing. They told me it was a combination of a photophacial with the microdermabrasion. Any good eye creams?
  • I know I keep saying it but I think Teamine Eye Complex is THE best eye cream out there. Lots of good ingredients including ones that help with fine lines. I'm loving the way that all my fine lines are GONE!!!
  • Thanks Karen ! I researched it a little bit. I guess its claim to fame is it fades dark circles. I am glad that you posted that it worked on fine lines. As soon as you told me about it I began to research it. A lot of people rave about the under eye darkness not many comments on fine lines. So, I'm glad you say it works on fine lines. I'm saving up for it. I haven't gotten any other suggestions. Currently I'm using Clinique's eye cream its ok nothing wonderful.  Have you had any experience with microdermabrasion?
  • Yes, I had just one treatment two weeks ago. I'm liking the results I see & will consider more in the future. By removing those top layers of skin, it really allows good products to be absorbed, too.
  • I think I am going to go ahead and give it a try. I have to wait about a month because Im going on vaca. They told me I have to wait a couple of weeks for my tan to calm down. Did you only have one treatment? Im also looking into that eye cream you recommended. Gracias.
  • Are you're going to do the photofacial and microdermabrasion combo? I'm a huge fan of microdermabrasion. I think you'll be really happy with the results. I'd love to get one of the home microdermabrasion kits but I'm afraid I'd blast my face into oblivion. I'm definitely an "anything worth doing is worth overdoing" kinda gal. And let us know what a photofacial involves. it looks like it might hurt a bit. I'm also curious about the "down time" after.
