Egg in Hair?
  • What is the deal about applying egg to hair?
So many women seem to feel this will condition and strengthen hair.
I think it is one big mess and won't be benificial. What do you think?
  • I think that would
be gross because the eggs are raw and you could get bacteria and stench.

  • Here's what we wrote about egg for skin. Pretty same issues apply: Do I Have Egg on my Face? Should I?
  • So, Right Brain, another question...  Does using an egg yolk whisked together with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of honey in your hair as a deep conditioner/protein treatment have any benefits?

I got the recipe from the makeupalley site. Search unlisted brand and search the product name for "egg bomb". I have tried this concoction in my hair before with rather good results. The honey does make it feel sticky. I actually wondered if it would wash out or just sit there and harden. It washed out just fine with only one sudsing (with a no sulfate shampoo - my scalp reacts badly to sulfates).

What do you think? Worth the time and effort to do once in a while or total waste of time?
  • Thanks for the link Right Brains. I do recall reading this some time ago.
I think that some "egg users" feel that the protein in the egg will transfer to their hair and thus, they are conditioning their hair.
  • I think its gross but would be better to use pasteurized liquid egg.
