cream deconstruction
  • Hi,

I have this face cream and it works really great and is very cost effective.I am worried about the ingredients of this product and why this works so well. Can you please help. These are the ingredients :

Ingredients: Purified Water, Sunflower Oil, Cetosearyl Alcohol, Capric Caprylic Triglyceride, Glycerine, GMS, Emulsifying Wax, Propylene Glycol, Polysorbate 20, Fragrance, Kokum Butter, Dimethicone, Cyclo- methicone, Almond Oil, Silk Protein, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium PCA, Imid Urea, Carbopol 2020, Olive Oil, Vitamin E, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate.

    Is it full of chemicals?

    Thanks so much.

    Uma
  • Uma: Yes it's full of chemicals because EVERYTHING is a chemical!

If you're concerned about harmful chemicals, I don't see anything in this formula that's no used in many, many other products (except "kokum butter" I've never heard of that one.)

Of course anyone can have an allergic reaction to a product (especially due to fragrance) but there's nothing in this product that appears to be concerning.
  • Thanks for the prompt reply. I understand what you are saying. Is there any moisturizer that is naturl and still works? Do things like pure almond oil do the same thing...sorry for reposting another question. Thanks again!
  • Don't worry nothing makes a chemical inherently dangerous and it is highly unlikely that anything in this will hurt you.
  • Almond oil, and other natural oils, do help skin retain moisture. They're just not as good as "chemicals" like dimethicone and petrolatum.
  • And almond oil is a chemical too! Or rather made of chemicals.
  • Thank you :)
