So here goes question 1: it claims to be a pre-moisturizing treatment. From what I've learned, oils create a thin layer that prevents water from the formulation and from your skin to escape, making it easier for your skin to maintain the hydration level and to absorb water from the formula. So... how is this supposed to work? Shouldn't this be an after-moisturizer treatment?
Question 2 is about comedogenic/non-comedogenic. It claims to be a non-comedogenic treatment, but the first ingredient is wheat germ oil, which, along coconut oil, is the most comedonenic oil (it rates 5 out of 5). Actually I've been reading some reviews and no one seems to have had any trouble with it, but it astonishes me. Is there any reason why this oil wouldn't have a comedogenic effect in this formulation?
I would love to know the answer too.. i heard that coconut oil works wonders for skin.... I'm not sure how since you are pointing out that it is actually comedogenic?
For oily skin, it might be enough, and no idea why before and not after, unless it's because it absorbs better that way, since it looks like an intensive serum type thing.
What catches my eye here is the ingredients list, some expensive stuff. No idea how much they used, but some are highly anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial, so maybe that's it - also a lot of those concentrated eos (essential oils) and their constituents (linalool, geraniol, etc.), so I hope you'll forgive an aromatherapist for jumping in, but I have to ask, what does it smell like, seriously? Whatever the amount, the vetiver (love that stuff!) and several others are used in perfumery, wonder if they actually formulated it that well for fragrance - plus that would tell you how much of those ingredients. Of course too much would be terrible and you'd have already mentioned an overly intense smell ; ) Some great stuff for skin, but no comprende how they can say non-comedogenic either, especially as that's a blanket statement that couldn't possibly apply to everyone, even at best.
The label states that it should be used for Dry Skin, so I'm guessing oily skin folks should stay away from this. In terms of consistensy, it looks like a light translucent oil. As for the smell, I'm sorry, but I really am bad at finding out the notes. It has a strong smell, but nothing I cannot deal with.
I do believe in the expensive stuff, it's sold here for €18 (although I acquired it for half of the price due to a promotion). I was going through the ingredient list and I was quite happy about it, seemed like a good blend, but I seriously can't understand those two aspects of the product I mentioned in the first comment.
I think they are not a big deal the companies are just being lazy and trying to make something thousands of years old hip again but thats just my opinion.
