New Forum Feature - Subscribe To Discussions

    We just added a new feature that lets you subscribe to specific discussions that you've commented on. Just click on the discussion of your choice and look on the left sidebar under "Notifications" for subscribe options. You can subscribe to the entire forum, to a certain category, or to a specific discussion. If you click the link you'll be sent an email the first time someone comments on the category/discussion you selected. If you click though, you'll continue to receive update emails. If you ignore the first email, it will automatically stop sending you updates. Give it a try and let us know how it works!

    Is this available on the new forum? i had tried in years past and it never worked but would love that feature.

    In the new forum, you should be able to get notified whenever someone comments on specific messages.  Just click on your profile and there should be a link on the left that says 'edit preferences'.  If you click on that you can set up notifications for when you get emails sent to you. 

    There should also be an option called 'email subscriptions'.  This lets you subscribe to specific categories so you'll get notified whenever someone posts something in those categories.  The nice thing is you can turn it on or off if you want more or less updating.

    Thank you...I don't think its working for me because earlier today I had discovered that 'edit preferences' and clicked on every single box for email notifications. I didn't get any email update to notify me you had posted again here. I also saw I had a "personal message" here on the site after logging in, but I didn't get an email notification for that either (and that is checked in preferences for sure). I thought maybe the emails were accidentally going to my spam folder, but nothing there either. Is anyone else having an issue with notifications? Maybe just me....

    I did read what you suggested about the star tool up there in the toolbar. I'll try that next here on this post and test it out.

    FYI... i got an email on a "bookmarked" discussion, so it seems to be working for me now.

    i get emails anytime someone comments on a topic i commented on anyway
