Clairol Nice ‘n Easy Gray Solutions Retexturizing Pre-treatment
  • The Beauty Brains previously blogged on Advanced Gray Solutions by Clairol.

Clairol now has something called just Gray Solutions with a retexturizing pretreatment. I don't really know if this product is new but it is new to me.

Will this cover gray roots longer than other hair color products?

Why is Clairol instructing to use the Gray Solution Retexturizing Pre-treatment on all hair root to tip even if you are only coloring the roots? Is this necessary?

Does the Gray Solution Retexturizing Pre-treatment damage hair? If so how badly?

What does the Retexturizing Pre-treatment really do? How does it work?

Here are the instructions and ingredient list from the Clairol site.

Nice ‘n Easy Gray Solution Gray Retexturizing Pre-treatment: Water, Propylene Glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Quaternium-80, Soytrimonium Chloride, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Fragrance, DMDM, Hydantoin, Disodium EDTA, Hydrolyzed Sweet Almond Protein

Will a regular perm hair color work just as well or will this product do better at keeping gray roots colored longer?

    Thank you!
  • I checked with a hair coloring expert on this and will have an answer back shortly. I'll post it on the blog - probably sometime next week.
  • Thank you!
