Do you happen to know if iontophoresis does anything for the skin? I know it supposedly helps the ingredients in facials penetrate the skin, but I'm not entirely clear on how that would work.
We have seen some indications that galvanic current can help certain ingredients penetrate into the skin. It depends on the specific ingredient and the type of electrical apparatus being used. Basically the idea is that you set up a charge gradient across the layers of the skin which causes the ingredient (assuming it's charged as well) to migrate along the same path.
