Sensitive Skin Cleanser - Combination Skin
  • Hi,

I have combination facial skin with mild acne & mild facial psoriasis (I
know, how lucky). I am having trouble finding a good facial cleanser that
dep cleans without cloging my pores or irritating my psoriasis.

I have tried Cetaphil Gentle cleanser but it seems to have Sodium Lauryl
Sulphate, the worst surfactant out there. I had some luck with Cerave
Hydrating cleanser as it has a revolutionary system of ceramides but it
also has parabens & Behentrimonium Methosulfate; a known skin irritant. I
have tried Aveeno Ultra calming, Purpose Gentle wash, Neutrogena Extra
    Gentle & Liquid Neutrogena too.

Please suggest which is the safest, non-irritating, non-comedogenic,
non-drying facial cleanser out there. A good day moisturizer without SPF
would also help. I am using Cetaphil Moisturizing lotion at the moment.
  • I'm fond of the Dove cleansing cloths, myself. However I do not have many skin issues, so I can't say if it will work for you. But it might be worth looking in to -- they are supposed to have super-gentle formulas that get the job done, and the cleansing cloth line has a sensitive skin formulation. I like to tear the cloths in half -- you really don't need the whole thing to wash your face. The cloths contain no SLS.

    Hope that helps.
  • I find myself being a pack-rat with Acne Products, so I have a bunch of stuff just laying around I finally decided to put to good use.

This is what I do: In the Mornings I use Apricot Scrub: Invigorating. Afterwards I follow with putting some Boots No7 Soft & Soothed Toner on a slightly damp cotton pad and waiting for it to dry completely. Once a week, instead of using Apricot Scrub, I use the Mask part of Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask then follow with my regular routine. Every night before going to bed I use Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Cleanser with Microclear Technology and continue with using Boots No7 Soft & Soothed Toner and Aveeno Clear Complexion Correcting Treatment, putting the spot treatment on my entire face as if it were a Moisturizer.

Everything I have, I bought at Target. These are the prices:
    Apricot Scrub: Invigorating: ~$4.00
    Boots No7 Soft & Soothed Toner: ~$8.00
    Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask: ~$8.00
Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Cleanser with Microclear Technology: ~$8.00
Aveeno Clear Complexion Correcting Treatment: Regularly ~$14.00, but I had gotten it on sale for about $4.00.

I don't have a perfect face, but (especially after I started using No7 Soft & Soothed Toner) my Acne has reduced greatly. I am currently looking for something good to get rid of blackheads, so if you find anything be sure to tell me.

Just so you know, I have Oily/Normal Skin and it is also sensitive and easily blemished.
