Best Cleanser & Matte Lotion for Oily Skin
  • Well, after hanging out here on this forum & the blog for a while, I feel Beauty Brains should have a list of favourite cleansers & moisturizers for all the skin types like Oily/Dry/Normal/Sensitive/Combination. After all, its crazy out there with so many products & after reading beauty blog it is even more difficult to find something that does the job & is safe at the same time.

I have been using Cetaphil Dail Facial Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin for 2 weeks now & it does a good job of cleansing without drying, but it does not take more than a couple of hours for my face to turn into a grease ball. Also, the cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion is way too Oily for Combination skin.
I'm sure there is something out there, very basic that I can wash with & then use a good matte lotion without spf as all spf irritates my skin.

I have used J&J Purpose, Neutrogena Pure & Mild, Cetaphil Gentle, Cetaphil daily, Clean & Clear, Vichy face washes. For day lotions, I have tried Cetaphil, Olay Total effects, Vanicream Lite, Cerave.

Please share what works for your Combination to Oily Skin. I'm ready to go shopping.
  • I find myself being a pack-rat with Acne Products, so I have a bunch of stuff just laying around I finally decided to put to good use.

This is what I do: In the Mornings I use Apricot Scrub: Invigorating. Afterwards I follow with putting some Boots No7 Soft & Soothed Toner on a slightly damp cotton pad and waiting for it to dry completely. Once a week, instead of using Apricot Scrub, I use the Mask part of Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask then follow with my regular routine. Every night before going to bed I use Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Cleanser with Microclear Technology and continue with using Boots No7 Soft & Soothed Toner and Aveeno Clear Complexion Correcting Treatment, putting the spot treatment on my entire face as if it were a Moisturizer.

Everything I have, I bought at Target. These are the prices:
    Apricot Scrub: Invigorating: ~$4.00
    Boots No7 Soft & Soothed Toner: ~$8.00
    Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask: ~$8.00
Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Cleanser with Microclear Technology: ~$8.00
Aveeno Clear Complexion Correcting Treatment: Regularly ~$14.00, but I had gotten it on sale for about $4.00.

I don't have a perfect face, but (especially after I started using No7 Soft & Soothed Toner) my Acne has reduced greatly. I am currently looking for something good to get rid of blackheads, so if you find anything be sure to tell me.

Just so you know, I have Oily/Normal Skin and it is also sensitive and easily blemished.
