I recently found out about The Body Shop (http://www.thebodyshop-usa.com/bodyshop/) and there are several Products I have seen there that I am interested in buying. The only thing I am questioning is if it's worth all that money. For anyone who has used The Body Shop products, is it worth it? What have you tried? What's worked great and what hasn't?
Please be sure to tell me your skin type so that I know if what worked for you would work for me.
I have recently tried The Body Shop Aloe Gentle Face Wash & it is probably the best product I have ever used. I have combination skin meaning it is oily & dry at the same time in different places. Also, I am acne prone, have very sensitive skin & also have mild psoriasis.
This product cleans very well, does not dry or irritate or clog my pores. Does not overdry. It has no fragrance or harsh preservatives like parabens or Formaldehyde.
The best part is that it has Aloe as the 2nd ingredient, which means it has a lot of aloe unlike other products that have 1-2% listed towards the end.
If there is any reason I may not buy again its the $$$.
They have a complete line of Aloe products and within the line there are different products for different skin types.
They also have a Jojoba Line for dry skin, Tea Tree line for blemish prone skin. It's the best shopping experience ever although it is way too expensive for me.
Here's a reliable review by paula's Choice:
Aloe Gentle Facial Wash, for Sensitive Skin
by The Body Shop
Claims:
Rich, yet mild soap-free cleansing foam that gently rinses away make-up, impurities and grime and is soothing and calming on sensitive skin. Dermatologically approved and clinically proven as suitable for sensitive skin.
Review:
Aloe Gentle Facial Wash, for Sensitive Skin is a very good, fragrance-free, gentle water-soluble cleanser for its intended skin type. In fact, this is great for all but very oily skin and rinses cleanly while removing makeup easily.
I am also using Body Shop Aloe Vera line before switching to Paula's Choice. There are not many choices of sensitive skincare in my country, so for me Body Shop is reasonable price beside Clinique and Paula's Choice.
I like Body Shop's Aloe Vera, but I just think Paula's Choice works better on my skin. So I move to PC.
I was reading your response on The Body Shop products. Your skin sounds EXACTLY like mine! I am so frustrated with it. I really want to try the aloe cleanser you love. Can I ask, what moisturizer do you use?
I agree fully with mo. If you have sensitive or reactive skin the Body Shop Aloe Range is the BEST. I use their Aloe Calming cleanser and i will never ever ever ever use anything else. It's well-priced and cleans gently and very well. Plus it has NO preservatives
