I don't think I can buy Puala's Choice skin care products on a regular basis. Actually I can buy the cleansers 'cuz at $21 a jar, it lasts me a month. But the moisturizer costs $18 & it lasts only a week or so. You can do the math. Is Paula's Choice the only skin care brand that formulates their products so carefully?
No. Probably the best researched & developed products are from Olay or Neutragena.
They have much bigger R&D departments than Paula's Choice. That's not to say it automatically means the products will be better for you. However, you can be certain they are good products at reasonable prices. There is no harm in trying store brands. They are often the best choice.
Thank You left Brain. I have had some luck with Olay but Neutrogena has never worked for me.
I am currently using the Sensitive Skin Range from Olay for Cleansers & Moisturizers & looks like I will stick to them. Neutrogena does not have many products that are fragrance free, dye free & without harsh preservatives.
The reason I am such a big fan of Paula's Choice is that she does not use fragrance & Dyes in any of her products. That makes sense as these are known skin irritants and not only should people with sensitive skin avoid them but nobody should use anything with fragrance on their skin. Her products seem pretty straight forward when it comes to ingredients also, other than the plant oils.
It's a shame that I can't aford them so I'll stay with Olay. Can't understand why is it so difficult for cosmetics companies to formulate something so basic as a fragrance free cleanser or moisturizer.
Because people are attracted to fragrance. It does catch people's attention when you only have 30 seconds to capture their attention at a beauty counter.
My face can't stand fragrance either, but sometimes I just can't help but really get caught up with say, Shiseido's soft clean scent.
You can also try things from Boots No. 7, which is available at Target. I know for sure that their Oil-Free Moisturizing Gel is fragrance free, but I don't remember whether or not it's dye free. I do love it though! And it's not TOO expensive.
