bronzer question
  • After using Cetaphil's Daily Facial Cleanser, I moisturize my face with Olay's Complete UV Defense Moisture Lotion SPF 15 for Sensitive Skin. I then use Maybelline's Cover Stick Corrector Concealer to cover any blemishes, acne scars, and dark under-eye circles. L'Oreal's True Match Super-Blendable SPF17 Liquid Foundation is next.

Recently I've started to use a bronzer by NYC, applying it over my foundation. The foundation gives me great coverage and with the bronzer over it, a beautiful finish.

However, by the end of the day, or even after 5-6 hours, the bronzer looks bad - with streaks, patches, and an unsmooth finish. My foundation starts to show in random spots and the makeup overall looks dried out.

I'm wondering if this is due to the NYC bronzer I've started to use, or the result of an error in my makeup regiment.

Until I added the bronzer to my routine, there wasn't a problem. But I love the effect (at least, initially); I'm hesitant to switch to another bronzer because I love the shade of this one - especially considering its low cost!
  • I think it's probably the bronzer that's causing your problem, if you haven't had any trouble with your foundation and moisturizer before. Although if you really like the bronzer, maybe you could try a less dewy/wet foundation? It could be that the moisture in the foundation is mixing with the bronzer and making it go all streaky...

Good luck with whatever you decide!
  • u can try using cream bronzers like ones from sally hansen's natural beauty line inspired by carmindy to avoid streaks that occur after a long day..
  • Thanks :)

I've tried other powdered bronzers (including ones by Rimmel and Wet 'n' Wild) and find the one by NYC much more superior in terms of its shade and the way it looks on my skin (though, as I mentioned, only initially).

I would certainly prefer using a cream/liquid/gel bronzer but I've avoided them as I imagine they'd be difficult to apply over liquid foundation?
  • oh no!  it's like finger painting!
