Chlorosalicylic Acid
  • I read in the November issue of Self magazine that "chlorosalicylic acid, the newest version of salicylic...penetrates farther into skin to battle breakouts." It says Avon Anew Night Revitalizing Cream contains this. Is this acid really better for acne than salicylic?
  • @Tribecca: I looked at the ingredients listed on Avon's site and I don't see any mention of this material. Are you sure it wasn't a different product?
  • Perhaps you mean LHA (Cosumers name: Lipo-Hydroxy Acid) or CAPRYLOYL SALICYLIC ACID it's a patent from L'oreal and being used in the professional line of La Roche Posay (for example LHA 10% peel). A recent study from the university of Liege (Belgium) conluded that it could penetrate the skin better then BHA's and was more effective then AHA's
