One of the first lessons I learned in basic chemistry was a base and an acid neutralize one other. This thought popped into my head when I realized I was applying a 2% salicylic acid gel to my face then followed it with a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. Am I making my acne medications cancel each other out?
