  • This oil which comes off  the tree or bush(not sure, buds, nuts etc..) in Morocco is now the biggest thing here in europe since about a year. It's used from skin, body oil-massage and hair. In its pure condition, it costs a pretty packet but I had a hair masque with deep heating  treatment cap and my hair shone for weeks.
Anyone else know of its various uses?

  • The brains posted about it a while ago: thebeautybrains.com/2008/05/31/is-argan-oil-good-for-hair-and-skin/
In short, it has promise but contains oleic acid, which is highly comedogenic. They (the brains) also made goat poop jokes.
  • I think it was Right Brain responsible for those jokes.
  • you can use it for hair, skin and nails for more information

  • I finally found a deep conditioning masque with argan oil that does not contain silicones. I use it after I color my hair (every four weeks) with semi-permanent color. While I do like the argan oil masque for after color I still use extra virgin coconut oil once a week for deep conditioning. My hair is wavy/curly so keeping it conditioned seems to help cut down on frizz.

I haven't tried argan oil for any other purposes so I cannot speak to that.

For skin I use extra virgin olive oil!
