I was in my local drugstore the other day, browsing through the acne products, and I found something called Nature's Cure Two Part Acne Treatment for Females. It came with some homeopathic tablets and a 5% benzoyl peroxide cream. The directions state that you should take a tablet twice a day, and use the cream, and you'll get results in two weeks.Do the tablets actually work? Wouldn't you get similar results from just using a benzoyl peroxide cream on its own?
What are the homeopathic tablets, just out of curiositly? I assume that they're supposed to treat acne caused by hormones (the "monthly breakouts" many of us get along with another unwelcome monthly visitor) and the benzoyl peroxide is to treat acne caused by bacteria.
The benzoyl peroxide cream is probably effective on it's own. I think companies develop and market a line of products hoping you'll buy and use all of them even though you really only need just one. I think they count on the "if one product is good, two must be better" mentality to get you to buy all the products initially and then the "if it's working, don't mess with it" mentality to keep you using all of them. If you start with just the cream and see what effect it has then add the tablets, you'll be able to tell whether they make a difference.
There is no proof that homeopathic tablets do anything. In fact, they defy established science and logic and are almost completely worthless. Don't waste your money.
PurpleRules has it right. The benzoyl peroxide is the only thing that actually does anything in that system.
