What to do about water quality?
  • OK, here's some background...

I've been using the same shampoo, conditioner and styling products for a while now, and I was happy with them. But then I went to visit family for the holidays. I brought all my products with me, so they're the same as what I use at home, only my hair turned out so much better - softer, shinier, easier to manage. Since everything else was the same, I have to imagine the difference was the water. I never thought I lived in a hard water area and have never had my water tested.

So short of selling my house and moving, or installing a water softener system, any ideas to help me get the results I got at my mom's house? (She says it's a hint that I should move back closer to her. NO!!!)

    Thanks in advance.
  • There are water filters you can install onto your shower head.  Try looking at places like Lowe's or Home Depot first.  I think Jonathan Antin markets one under his brand, but I'm sure it's overpriced.

Thanks! I didn't realize there was such a product. A quick search on homedepot.com told me that a filter kit is about $20 and the replacement filters are ~$10 and last about 6 months or 10,000 gallons. Sounds like this is exactly what I need. Thanks again!
