Since I got interested in beauty blogs I have noticed a tendency of recommending fashing face with soap/cleansers/cremes etc twice a day. I myself don't do that, i use toners as my main cleansing products and wash my face two or three times a week in the shower. I have combination skin with very oily T zone and use gentle aloe vera+tee tree exfoliating cream wash without sulfates in the shower. For toner I use no alcohol, no witch hazel products. For make-up remover I use milk. I have no great issue with my skin, just ocassional break outs, but I was wondering if I'm doing something wrong. I'm 22 by the way and wear make up 3-4 days a week and live in London, so polution is an issue.
I think most women wash their faces more often then is necessary. I use an oil-based cleanser at night if I've got makeup on. It gets the makeup off and leaves my skin feeling clean but not stripped. I wash it in the morning if I washed and conditioned my hair since some conditioners can aggravate my skin. I've got dry skin though so oil control isn't a problem.
PurpleRules, I might be right about that one. Not only do people overwash their faces, but their hair too. I wash my hair twice/ three times a week, and that is enough. Althoug I do put shampoo three times in my hair evertime i wash and after reading all the "how great it is for your hair to be washed with only conditioner" and "shampoo dry out hair" I washed it only two times and now after 24 hours I have oily hair. Not doing it again.
There is no right answer. It really depends on the person.
Some people don't like how there face feels if they don't wash twice a day. Others like to skip a day.
And hair, well, that's not much different. There are some people that have even decided to just stop washing their hair with shampoo.
It's just personal preference.
