  • I have pretty good skin overall, with one big problem: a whitehead just beside my nose. I've been using a 2% beta hydroxy acid lotion on it for months, with no results. Any advice on how to get rid of this stubborn devil, short of going to a dermatologist? Thank you.
  • I once visited a derm for whiteheads & she put me on Retin A for 8 weeks & extracted them at the end of it. I guess Adapalene would works as well. I haven't used Retin A Micro yet but read a lot about better skin tolerance.
  • It sounds like milia. www.dermadoctor.com/article_Milia_56.html

  • Eek. I had one of those when I was a teenager; it was BIG, and it feltl ike it was there for years but was probably only for months. Drove me NUTS. I finally just lost patience and went after it until the blasted thing came OUT. I don't scar when I do that, though, so it had a happy ending. The offending pore shrank up quickly enough but the thing was the size of Vesuvius by the time I finally just threw down the gauntlet and manhandled it until it gave up the ghost.

    Anyhow, I feel your pain.
  • I agree PurpleRules. I think it's milia. Unfortunately, with milia you need to go see a derm and they can extract it for you.
