Skin cleansers,moisturizers,toners, and washes
  • I am trying to find the best moisturizer, toner, cleanser and body wash for me. I have dry skin constantly in spots on my face, my skin stays clear for the most part but I cant seem to get rid of my huge blackheads that are EVERYWHERE! So I am trying to find the perfect products.
I am looking for a moisturizer for dry skin that has spf and is non oily. A skin toner that doesnt have alcohol or witch hazel but it can have chamomile or rose water. I also heard vitamine E and Wheat Oil is great for dry skin..I also heard that I should STAY AWAY FROM: Cleansers formulated with Salicylic Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide or Sulfur which dry-up oil and are intended for oily or blemish-prone skin.
from what I hear and have read ST. Ives and Alba seem to be the best products , but I am unsure can someone help me find the right products for me?
  • Unfortunately, what works for me may not work for you. It will take trial and error to find what works best for you. I've been using Olay Foaming Face Wash, and really like it. It sells for less than $5.00, so if it doesn't work for you, you're not out much money. I like their moisturizers too. If your skin is dry, you might want to skip using a toner. I don't have trouble with blackheads, but I've heard the Biore face strips work. Good luck in your search.
  • Have you read the book  "The Skin Type Solution" by Dr. Leslie Baumann?
(Try Amazon, or your local bookstore....)
She's a brilliant dermatologist who claims there are 16 skin types, not just 3.
This book has a questionaire to discover your skins quirks and needs, and there's chapters
on the care of each skin type, and products best suited to the care of your skin. This book changed my
life and how I treat my skin. There are website dedicated to this typology, just google for it.
