Pillow Case - Hair
  • I was just wondering if the pillowcase fabric that you use is important. I've been using a flannel one, and my hair looks dry when I wake up. Does it have a big effect?
  • A lot of people do like satin ones for that reason, that it's supposedly easier on the hair. I imagine it is, but the feel of cotton or flannel is so lovely that I haven't bothered to go the satin route. :-)

If you can find one, give it a shot and see how it works. Might as well.
  • satin often get the static electricyti in them... i hate that and i know it's not good for your hair.
  • This is a late post- just saw your question. My answer is a big yes- flannel will dry out your hair and make it look wild, weird. There is no give as you move your head during the night, also flannel is very absorbent. I love flannel sheets- even sleep in them in summer- Because they are so absorbent, they are actually sweat wicking and fairly cool. But they also absorb all the natural, good oil from your hair. Anyway, I stopped with the pillowcase and noticed a huge hair improvement. My mom and her hairdresser friends use the satins and it works for their foofy dos and works for my straight, long locks too.
  • I use silk pillowslips which are great for hair and skin (no 'sleep' wrinkles when you wake up).
