Everyday sunscreen

Hi! I just had a quick question about zinc oxide. I've read that it is the active ingredient in sunscreen. I absolutely despise the consistency and smell of sunscreen but would like to start using it daily. Can you just mix some powdered zinc oxide into some lotion and have an effective sunscreen? Or is there more to it than that? Also, if that doesn't work, do you know of a non-greasy, unscented sunscreen for everyday use on the body? Thanks!

Do you want a sunscreen with no scent at all- is it the sunscreeny smell most of them have, or would one with a pleasant, very light scent work for you? I finally found a sunscreen I really like- after spending a small fortune searching for a truly non- oily, good under makeup and all over product. Found it in Arizona Sun oil-free- smells nice, paid $9 for 4 oz- a standard size and price. So far I can only find it mail order. You can also get it in a travel size if you want to sample it.
