  • Does mink oil penetrate hair to the cortex, how about macedamia nut oil?
  • This question hasn't been specifically studied.
But mink oil and macedamia nut oil are high in Palmitoleic acid which is a 16-carbon based fatty acid.  This ingredient hasn't been shown to penetrate the hair.  Coconut oil has been shown to penetrate.  It's primary compound is a 12-carbon based fatty acid.
It's most likely that mink oil and macedamia nut oil do not penetrate the hair.
