I have been trying different moisturizers to use after I wash my face in the morning and have yet to find one that not only takes away that dry feeling but also doesn't feel "sticky" or heavy on my face. To help narrow down the search...what is the ingredient that I need to avoid that gives this sticky feeling?
Breve.
You need to try a moisturizer that is formulated for your skin type, such as Normal/Dry, Combination/Oily, Very Dry, Very Oily, not just any moisturizer will do. Mary Kay offers all of these options and you're not left with a graveyard drawer of unused products, our products are satisfaction guaranteed so that we can find the right product for you without it costing you a fortune.
Korres 24 Hour Wild Rose Moisturizer just plain makes me happy. It smells amazing, but not perfume-y. This moisturizer won't leave a shine to your face like most, and isn't sticky or leave a thick film on your face. I prefer to apply it while my skin is damp, so it isn't quite so rich. You only need a teeny bit. It works really well with ALL skin types. Get a sample at Sephora. Its the best I've ever used, and I've used a lot!!
If you live near a Sephora store (I think it's in most cities, not sure), they will gladly make you up to 3 samples of any product each time you visit the store. That helps a lot, although they tend to carry expensive brands. If you want to buy the expensive stuff (i.e., dept store brands), many department stores will take returns if the product didn't work out for you. Some drugstores might, too. Personally, I've found that some botanical/"natural" moisturizers can be sticky.
