Hi! From what I know, lipstick primers are meant to hydrate the lips (as any balm should), but also help the liptick glide easily and keep the color from bleeding.
I've been trying to compare different formulas of liquid/solid/pencil primers versus the colored lipsticks, and I believe there is a bigger percentage of:
- Powders (silica, mica, etc), to keep the color from bleeding
- Solvents (isododecane, polybutene, octyldodecanol), to help with the spreadability
I know it is very hard to compare formulas with different consistencies... But whether its a stick or a gloss, the goal is still the same...
So is this right, or am I missing something?
