DiorShow...is it worth it?

    Oh. My. Gawd! It's so worth the $23 IMO. After reading lots of buzz about this mascara I decided I had to have it. I normally use L'oreal Voluminous, Maybelline Volume Xpress, and sometimes Lancome Definiciles (same stuff as the Voluminous but 3 times as expensive).

    I got the regular DiorShow in Chestnut. I'm fair skinned, green eyes, red (help from a bottle but my mom's a natural) and the chestnut is a rich brown. Two coats does wonders for my lashes! I'm lucky I don't need an eyelash curler so I can't give you my experience there. However, this mascara goes on smooth with no clumps.

    I read some negative reviews at Amazon. I think mascara should be purchased in person vs online; who knows how long it's been sitting in a warehouse? I got mine at Dillard's for $23 and I'll definitely buy again. It kills me to spend that much on a product I faithfully toss every 3-4 months but I'm not going to mess with my eyesite.

    One caveat it you're sensitive to fragrance. It has a slight perfumey scent. I understand all this stuff has some sort of fragrance unless it specifically says no added fragrance.

    I bought the DiorShow waterproof, so maybe it is slightly different, but I wasn't thrilled with it. I like the extra big brush, but I found it to be quite goopy and it never created a look that I really liked. A lot of my lashes tend to stick together when I use it, and so it ends up looking kind of fake. I think it is a slightly thicker formula than most mascaras I use too, so I've never been brave enough to put it on my bottom lashes!

    Hanna, when I bought it the sales gal said she was wearing the normal version and wouldn't recommend the waterproof. I wonder if you were to try the normal stuff if you'd like it.

    Before I purchased at Dillard's I made sure I could return it if necessary. I didn't want to waste the money! Heck, I returned a Boots No 7 mascara to Target since it was pure junk *grins!*

    You're most definitely right! I don't know why I bought the waterproof. I don't think I've ever used a waterproof mascara that I liked, so I should give Diorshow another shot.

    I like your policy about returns, Hermione! I'm always too lazy when I don't like something, so I guess they'll still stay in business with me around!

    I'm not a huge fan of Diorshow...the mascara looks great initially, but it smudges/runs far too easily for my liking. I understand that the waterproof version probably stays on better, but I dislike using waterproof mascaras unless absolutely necessary (and Bourjois makes a great one that I love, anyway).

    I am not impressed with diorshow. I have the blackout version and I love how dark it is, but it's clumpy and smudges and flakes.

    I also have long lashes and it leaves black marks above the crease in my lid.

    I love CG's lash exact and volume exact mascaras. They make my lashes look naturally black and lush. Perhaps it is because I have long lashes as it is, but I much prefer CG to Diorshow.
