shea butter as a cleanser and moisturizer
  • With really bad skin allergies and sensitivities, I have struggled for many years over how to clean and moisturizer. Finally, I hit upon Shea Butter. Unrefined Shea Butter. For cleansing I mix a little bit with some Argan oil and some glycerine. Then for moisturizing I mix a little teensy bit with some glycerine. The cosmetic companies are very insistent that their products -- with the "latest and greatest" are best for skin. is this true? What will I miss by using Shea Butter? Will Shea Butter harm my facial skin in any way or cause me to age faster or something? What do the expensive cosmetic lines offer me that I am missing?
  • In response to your last question, nothing. If you're happy with your current routine and products then stick with them. You're not going to harm or age your skin and you're not not missing anything by skipping the expensive stuff.
