We get a lot great questions from our readers but sometimes we can’t quite figure out what they’re asking. Here’s an actual question from an actual email, does anyone understand this?
“How do you get your name braned on so hair or your our name braned hair.”
Did you see Lien’s comment on our “Rose Are Red…” Valentines Day post? Basically, she says that “roses and chocolate are useless and overpriced. stocks, real estate, and other types of investments are girls’ best friends.” What do you think of THAT?
How have you scored on the last few Beauty Brains Beauty Science polls? The Left Brain, Right Brain, Sarah Bellum, and Mid Brain have been taking turns researching the questions for the polls and we’ve been doing pretty darn good! It’s a lot of fun seeing which questions pop up each week. Sometimes the answers seem easy, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are! We’re trying to figure out how to automatically score everyone’s answers so we can all see who’s the best guesser. Stay tuned!
One of the most interesting, and puzzling, questions we’ve ever had came from Tammy who tells us that for years her nails have smelled like cat urine when she files them. No matter what kind of nail file, or what brand of nail polish she uses, her nails still smell like cat pee. We don’t know WHAT to think. If anyone else has experienced this leave a comment and help Tammy out.
In case you missed all the buzz, head on over to NY Times article thread in our Forum and follow the links to the snarky comments about beauty bloggers. My favorite comment involved the use of the term “swag whores.” Meow!
Of all the topics we’ve blogged about in the last 2 years, few have generated as many kudos and brickbats as our January 10th post on Kinoki Detox Foot Pads. The number of people who cling to non-scientific, magical thinking simply amaze me. The Beauty Brains, and other skeptics like us, have our work cut out for us! If you want a jaw-dropping look into scientific illiteracy in the world today, go check out our post.
Did you see the comment on the Feb 1 post about Scalpmed? She said that her grandma used to rub salmon on her scalp to help her hair grow. Salmon! Now that’s a funny mental image!
We’ve heard that some people viewing our site with Internet Explorer are having trouble seeing our right sidebar. If the right side of our site looks screwed up to you, please drop us a note at “thebeautybrains@gmail.com.” Thanks!
I can’t believe no one commented on the hilarious comic book picture in the Jan 23rd post on Jan Marini. It’s one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a long time!
