Neutrogena Wave Power-Cleanser Review
From The Beauty Brains Forum Member: Karen
What’s pink and white and vibrates all over? If you’re Sarah Bellum, you probably have an X-rated answer. But if you said the Neutrogena Wave Power-Cleanser, then you may have discovered a fun and effective brand new gadget you can use to clean your face.
According to Neutrogena, it’s called the Wave because it’s “the next wave in cleansing.” Information
from its marketing company says it will “take your skincare routine to a new level” by sweeping away layers of dead skin cells. But do you really need to go to the next level? What’s wrong with simply washing your face to maintain healthy skin as you age?
Exfoliation Nation
To answer these questions, we have to talk about something today’s beauty-conscious woman thinks about as part of her personal skin care regimen that her mother probably didn’t. That something is exfoliation. Exfoliation, simply put, is the process of removing dead skin cells from the outer layer of your skin. That might sound harsh but exfoliation is actually a natural process of the body. When you’re under thirty, your skin sheds its dead epidermis about every 25 days on its own. Once you hit 30, however, this process slows down. That’s not a good thing if your goal is beautiful skin. If that top layer of dead skin cells stays put for too long, your complexion may appear dull and uneven. It can also feel rough or dry to the touch.
Exfoliation is an important step in your cleansing routine to expose younger skin underneath. If you do it regularly, you can improve your skin’s texture and help stimulate the production of new cells and collagen. The shedding process also unclogs pores to prevent blemishes from forming and allows your skin care products to reach deeper into the epidermis for better results. Additionally, it provides a smoother surface for your foundation to glide evenly over your face. Simply put, if you want healthy and radiant skin, you need to exfoliate.
Scrub-a-dub-dub
But who should do your exfoliation? You have choices. You can go to an esthetician and pay for her professional services. You can also do it yourself at home using a microdermabrasion kit or a facial scrub. Putting your skin in the hands of an esthetician might be a safe choice but it’s also an expensive one. On the other hand, do-it-yourself microdermabrasion kits can be intimidating if you don’t have the confidence or experience using them. I use facial scrubs, the simplest of the choices, but I’ll admit that I haven’t always had good results. That’s because my skin is prone to redness and excessive vascularity. My experience has been that if I apply too much pressure, my skin becomes red, blotchy, and hypersensitive. This is sometimes referred to as “Angry Face Syndrome,” and believe me, it’s nothing to smile about.
Love the Wave!
Recently, Neutrogena’s Wave Power-Cleanser with Deep Clean Foaming Pads came into my life. I’ve used it every night for one week and now I’m hooked. Here’s what I like about it:
- It delivers the perfect degree of gentle exfoliation that never damages my skin
- It’s fast and easy to use: I just attach a pre-dosed, single-use, textured pad to the top of it, run it under water, press the button, and glide it gently over my skin
- The gentle vibrating motion and tingly-cool foam gives my skin a nice, healthy glow rather than excessive redness
- My skin immediately feels softer and the dead skin cells that were problematic near my nose and chin are now gone
- It’s ultra light and comfortable to hold
- It can be used at a sink or in the shower
- It only takes up as much space as a bar of soap
- It’s been gentle enough for me to use every day
On the back of the box, Neutrogena says this device is clinically proven superior to manual cleansing in three ways:
- 100% of women showed significantly deeper pore cleansing from its penetrating cool foam
- Its massaging, vibrating action opens pores to remove dirt, oil, and makeup and stimulates the skin’s surface
- You’ll see immediate softer, smoother skin after just one use
While I can’t substantiate their claims, I did find the Wave to be one cool little gadget for consistent and gentle exfoliation with a click of the button. It requires a single AA battery included with the starter kit, as well as a two week supply of single-use, disposable cleansing pads. It comes in pink, turquoise, or apple-green color schemes. And the price? The starter kit sells for $12.99 and a 10-pack of refills pads is $7.49.
So now you know why I’m excited about my new pink and white vibrating gadget. Sarah Bellum, on the other hand, might have an entirely different story to tell you.

I have tried the WAVE. I love the massage! I could “over use” it because it feels great on pressure points!
It did make my skin feel softer after just one use. With dry winter skin, this is a great product to help remove the dry, flaky skin.
Berni De Campli Says:
I used the original Neutrogena kit with the pads. It was great. I must get the wave!!!!
Lynnette Says:
I am not sure I can justify spending $30 a month on this type of cleanser. The cleansers I use and sell in my salon are about $30 and last from 4-6 months.
Or am I mistaken and the pads are multi-use?

Lynnette Says:
PS- a TRUE microdermabrasion is done with vacuums or diamond head tips with the exfoliated skin taken back into the unit and then disposed of. Home kits are not true microderm, they are just kits that scrub the skin.

Kristy Says:
Lynnette, Unless you exfoliate more than once a day, the cost for a month’s supply of these pads would only be $21.
Lynnette Says:
I was counting the kit. But, still, $21 is still too much a month for me to justify this. Not when I can use professional products that really work and can get more for the money. JMHO.
Lynnette
Ann Says:
I agree with Lynette, $21/month is a bit steep for me to shell out for cleansing. Is everyday exfoliation recommended? What other professional products can you tell us about that really work Lynette? Ann
Karen Says:
Hi all -
The Wave is advertised as gentle enough to use every day so when I reviewed it, I decided to “take it to task” to see if that was true. I was initially worried but found I had no ill-effects from using it daily and it seemed to do everything it promised.
Having said that, I’m now using it three to four times a week and my skin really glows!
Most important to me is the fact that the Wave is gentle but also effective. Because its exfoliation action is controlled, you don’t have to worry about damaging your skin.
Hope that clarifies!

Kelly Says:
Hi! I recently read something about the “Hayflick Limit” - but in relation to exfoliating and using products like Retin-A that says you can only exfoliate a finite number of times and then your skin will stop reproducing new cells! Is this true? I’ve just started a regimine of AHAs and Retin-A and my skin looks gorgeous. Am I setting myself up for the “Hayflick Limit” if I use these products once a day?
LipstickFace Says:
As appealing as this item sounds, especially in winter, when I tend to get dry patches from the radiated air indoors and the wind outside, the LAST thing I wanna put on my face is *menthol*! (Ack! My ace is stinging just THINKING about it!) What gets *into* companies?! Do they think that by putting stupidity into products like this that people will get the idea that “It’s tingling, so it must be doing something!”? (Tell it to the kid in “Home Alone,” holding his face and shrieking, from the combined alcohol and camphor.) And perfume, too; why can’t it have nice calming emollients in it, without all the irritants? I just want a smooth, moist, happy face in the winter, not a crispy red one. (sigh)
Jennifer Says:
I just go this today, and I LOVE how my face feels! And the replacement pads were only $6.92 for 30 pads.
Johanna Says:
Well, Jennifer if you went to the Neutrogena Wave web site you can also get a coupon for $3 off. That would make the refill $3.92. I am sure they will be putting coupons in Sundays paper for this product like they do must things.
Kelly Says:
I LOVE this product. I bought it a week ago and my small acne cleared up!!! My face was great after the first time I used it. Couldnt be happier. I have oily acne skin, but hey, I dont anymore!!!! LUV it!!!!!!!!
Joyce Says:
Well, I have very oil skin. I saw this product at a CVS and it looked very good. I don’t exactly know if the menthol is a bad thing, but by all the reviews I have read, I can’t wait to try it.
mary Says:
wait so how much is this product im hearing many different prices and i went to another page and there were 2 there with different prices i really want to try it but not if its pricey
tina Says:
I saw this the other day at walgreens, and decided to buy it. I used it the other night and loved the immediate results, my skin was so soft and smoooth, which are results I haven’t had with any other product. The next morning, I woke up to find the little bumps on my face were gone. I love using this product!!! i’m just upset I didn’t know about it sooner!
Lucy Says:
I tried this a few days ago & it exceeded expectations. I have acne prone skin, maybe a tad bit sensitive too…and this product worked wonders. Never, I repeat, NEVER have I had my skin feeling so soft! I haven’t experienced any negative side-effects (ie, dryness, more acne..etc.). It’s definitely a great product. I suppose more time will allow a better response…but for now it’s working as promised. I will continue using.

I absolutely LOVE the wave.
I bought the starter kit (at target) which included the wave, 4 packets of pads, and a battery.
It leaves me skin feeling immediately soft after the first use.
I have used it for only 2 days now.
and my small acne is completely dissapeared!!
I love it!
I HIGHLY recommend it.
Danielle Says:
Would you recommend this product to a 13 year old? I’ve heard mixed reviews on this (the majority of them being positive) product, and I would like to try it out!
Amy Says:
When you ladies are talking about ’small acne’, what do you mean? Do you mean small bumps? I have both small bumps, and a couple pimples. I’m not expecting it to do much for the larger pimples, but would love if it cleared up to smaller bumps…. just as long as it doesn’t give me more larger one! Has anyone experienced this product making their face break out worse? Thanks!
melina Says:
Hey is this ok for teens?i have moderate acne, with “small acne”(mostly small acne)and i have 1 hugge pimple that i get 3 days before my period, and i wanna see if i can prevent it.
anywayz,i am gonna go and buy it tomorrow.wish me luck!!
melina Says:
Hey people!!!just wanted say I did buy it,and it is relly good!i havnt seen improvements in my acne yet but i can feel my skin is softer. It can hurt a tad if u leave it on a larger pimple for to long. LOVE how it tingles, and you can feel your pores being freed of gunk, and puss.YAY!
Amy Says:
Melina- thanks for the update… let us know if it continues to work! I’ve been looking for one in the drug stores, and can’t find one! I guess I’ll have to try looking in Walmart or Target. If I fine one, I’ll let you know how it does…. Best of luck with it!
melina Says:
Amy,
I bought mine at target for $11.99.I hope you find one!!
and for everyone else, the only problem I have is I have dry skin(It’s winter here after all)and I need to use moisturizer afterwards. But other than that,it’s the best thing I have EVER used!(And my other advice is DONT USE PROACTIV!!)
Dana Says:
Hey gals, I’ve been reading this thread for quite a few days, and I wanted to thank you all for your input. Of course when something seems too good to be true, it normally is. But it doesn’t seem to be the case with this. I have very dry flaky sensitive skin. Often it is so bad, it’s painful to wash my face, and I feel grotesque and therefore never go out. So needless to say, I’m extremely enthusiastic about getting this product. I was about to buy it online since I can’t find it at a Walgreens/Happy Harry’s or Eckerd/Rite Aid. But someone mentioned Target, so I’ll have my husband check that out tomorrow. If not, looks like I’ll have to buy it online! Again, thanks for the input, and I’ll update you where I found it and how it went. Cuz if it can do wonders for me, then it can work for anyone
Annisa Says:
I’m a teenager, 14 years old, and I don’t have bad acne at all. I was wondering if the wave was suitable for me. My skin is not too sensitive, I have used a clinique system, and it worked for a while, but after a few weeks, my forehead got bumpy. The bumps weren’t really pimples, just lumps that were slightly red. I think that happened because if I don’t use anything, my chin, cheeks, nose, and area between the cheeks and nose are where I get little bumps. It’s just small bumps and occasional miniscule white spots that are easy to pop. I also tried proactiv, and it worked, but the lotion stung. I used it in the end of november, and my skin became too dry and peeled. What I am looking for is something that can keep my skin smooth and a generally even skin tone. I can’t wear makeup to school, if i do, I’ll get a detention. Anyways, I don’t even own any makeup.
If you don’t think that the wave would work well for me, could you reccomend something that would?
mary Says:
has anyone had any problems at all with this product i know it is doing well for pretty much everyone on this page but i want to know if there are any problems at all im still making up my mind
melina Says:
non at all!!!I love this product!I’ve only had it for 3 days and it’s changed all my red bumps into smaller, less noticable bumps, and the bumps I had are gone, with no marks or anything!
TOTALLY recommended! So good.By the way,I am a 13 year old, with an over active face, and its working wonderfully for me.
madison Says:
hey! i haven’t bought this product yet…but i was wondering if it will work on oily skin? Which I have and it’s bothering me. Do they have different pads for the wave with different face washes in them? JW Everyone keeps talking about how it clears little bumps…I don’t have little bumps I have pimples and haven’t found the right thing for me. Hope this works!
madison Says:
oh ya I’m a teenager and if anyone has any tips for people with over oily skin.. please tell me!
Sharon Says:
hhmm. i keep wanting to buy this! my mom thinks its a gimmick (im 14 almost 15 feb 20th) anyways.. i think im going to buy this because of all the amazing reviews. does it take off makeup well and does it remove blackheads? i have really oily skin and TONS of blackheads.. not really pimples..maybe some small ones but its mainly blackheads. i want to know about the makeup removal because i wear foundation (covergirls trublend powder foundation- if it makes a difference) and i wanted to know.
summer Says:
i have relly bad acne but im going to try it i hope it works for my acne!
melina Says:
my acne is getting way better!!some of the marks have faded, and i can feel my skin is growing softer.again,do not leave on certain spots for to long.
and madison,i am sure it will work!I love the way it tingles, and it feels nice after a long day.the only thing is I run the pad under the water first, because that gets it more soapy.
good luck girls!!
hannah Says:
hey most people say that the wave works but wont the soap dry out your
skin
Cai Says:
I have a great idea if you don’t want to spend 21 dollars a month on replacement pads: buy regular cotton facial pads (can be found at Wal Mart for very cheap) and put your own facial wash on them. I do this every other day, and I love it.
Missy Says:
I use The Wave, and i LOVE it, great buy!!!
I got mine at Target for like $12!! Great price!
Kim Says:
I just bought this product yesterday and am not satisfied unless I’m doing something wrong..are the pads supposed to really sud up? How much water do you put on the pad. This should have came with detailed instructions cuz I dont feel like I’m getting anything out of this.
Cai Says:
Kim, if you don’t feel that your pads are suds-ing, just add a little bit of your own face wash
Dana Says:
I found mine today finally in a Target and they only had the pink (not that I particularly care) for 11.79. Add in the $2 off coupon and it’s less than 10 bucks. Plus it comes with a $3 off coupon for the next month’s pads. As I said before I have extremely dry and sensitive skin. My face feels incredible, and my husband can’t get over how smooth is feels. I’ll see how my face is in a few days to see if there are any irritated spots. I had a different concept of how the product works. I thought it would vibrate more of harder and be somewhat massaging. And I didn’t realize the pads had cleanser IN it. And they don’t suds up as much as I thought. But despite all of my misconcepts, I think (so far) that it’s great. I don’t see the price as being an issue - if there’s something that works and you have to spend 8 bucks a month, what’s the problem? It won’t break the bank. It’s better than spending a couple hundred on similar products or getting a salon facial. So far I’m seeing the same (or even better) results.
Dana Says:
This is day #2 for me, and I do have some irritation on my face. I’ll give it another 2-3 days to see if it’s helped at all, and if not, I’ll be giving it to my mom. I had no irritation before I started using the product yesterday, so I can confidently say that if you have sensitive )extremely sensitive skin) don’t get this. It does dry your skin out, so I bought new moisturizer, so hopefully the combo will work
But my face is still really smooth!
Nora Says:
I just bought the wave yesterday at target. It is outstanding. I used it last night in the shower, and my skin is so soft and cleaan!
Cair Says:
I bought the Wave and I’ve been having problems with getting it to lather well. Do you wet your face before you start to use it? Or apply it to a dry face?
Nicole Says:
Ive had the same problem with the wave. When ive used it, it doesnt lather up very much at all. Any suggestions?
melina Says:
about the lathering prob, does it NEED to lather a ton? What I do is run the pad under the sink as fast as it will go for a few seconds and it lathers up a little.
but my point is,I didnt need it to lather up a ton.It still cleared up my acne!BOOYA!
Kay Says:
I just tried it today. My skin is smoother, but the soap turned me bright red and burned my skin.
nikki Says:
OMG! I tried this product it ah-mazing! My face is like so smooth. Also my face looks better and my black heads are going away! I recommended to my friends. Im only 13 but ive tried every thing. This is by far the best thing i have tried. My skin is extremly oily. This dries it up nicely. As for the pads and being expensive some days only use one before bed and others morning and night. I love it also good luck!
Charlotte Says:
I just got this today, and I’ve haad this problem with bumps UNDER my skin that I could never get to go away. A few hours later, some of it’s ALREADY GONE. It didn’t irritate me at all. Also, everythings really cheap at Target and Walmart, so I suggest you get it there. Thanx for all the comments!
Simone Says:
Ladies, if your having a problem with it lathering up, just wet your face first along with the wave, and then massage your face with the wave for about 2 minutes. Be sure to moisturize your skin about 5 minutes after clensing it. If you moisturise it immediately after, your skin may burn. This product definitely makes your sknin smoother after the first time, but I hope this isn’t one of those products that stop working after a month
Sharon Says:
i got my wave today! i’ll post more later after i use it = ]
Sharon Says:
so i got the wave today and used it in the shower.. i don’t think that is what i would call a lather! i didn’t know if soap was coming out of it! however, i do think it made my skin smoother. ill write back in a week or two if anything else comes up.
pebblespro Says:
Hi, I’ve read most of the comments about the neutrogena wave and I wanted to say on the NEUTROGENA WAVE website there’s a $2.00 off coupon AND there’s a $3.00 off coupon for the refills… !
I also saw on AMAZON.com that they sell a 30 pad refill for $19.97 and if you have it automatically filled you save an additioan 15%… With FREE shipping…
halee Says:
ok i am thinking of buying the wave. i am 13 and i have bad acne. i was wondering if the wave clears acne or does it just make the skin smoother? and i was reading the comments about the wave and people said thst it doesnt lather up good enough? is that true? well please respond! thanks.
Sharon Says:
i am 15 and i have it. it is not that great. it does not lather up. i tried it in the shower.. i tried it while washing my face over the sink too. I tried it on my wrist to see if i could get any lather and it was hopeless. I don’t think it has helped my acne at all ( i don’t have that much, but I do have some). I don’t think you should get it, however I do feel it made my skin a bit softer. It’s a waste of time, just get a nice face wash that you like.
Heather Says:
Thanks to everyone for all the great feedback. I read all of this and went out and bought one after my husband went to bed! Anyway, I can only tell you a little, but my face looked and felt SO nice after just one use. My blackheads were almost invisible, and I thought that the minty smell was really refreshing. I can see why people would like to see more lather, but I really felt this was cleaning great without alot. Even when I was done with my face, I turned the pad over to the other side and did my neck and chest. And I think you should definitely go to Walmart to buy this stuff…starter kit was under $12 (I forgot to bring my $2 coupon) and the 30 refills was under $7, and that wasn’t even a sale price. You also get the $3 coupon on your refills, so SUPER CHEAP. It really shouldn’t cost much at all after your initial investment. Anyway, sorry so long, but I’m very excited. Also, I would have loved to have this as a teenager. I didn’t exfoliate back then because I thought it would make me oilier….NOT TRUE!
And a quick note for you grown-ups like me who still get those hormonal breakouts. There is a cheap RX drug called aldactone that decreases the testosterone in your body and it has been a miracle for me. Ask your Dr. about it.
Katie Says:
Tried it last night….I really like it! It’s not outstanding or life-changing but a nice change. Love the scent! Living in a humid climate like S.C. and having oily skin, I found it refreshing and tingly. And hey, like I read on another website, if you bore of the face washing buzzer you could probably use the device for other stress relieving tasks…..Just thought I’d mention that…
Sarah Bellum Says:
Katie:
Other stress relieving tasks? Let me tell ya, it’s no Rabbit! lol
katrina Says:
hey does your face get red and blotchy if you stop using the wave after like a couple weeks?
Kay Says:
Hello,
So from reading everyones answers, it sounds like it might help out my acne a bit, and won’t make it worse. I’m going to try it out. I wanted to let you gals know that ALOE VERA works very well for dry facial skin. It doesn’t make me break out at all, and actually helps my acne a bit. Good Luck to you all.
george Says:
is the NEUTROGENA WAVE just for women? or can men also use it?
Ashley Says:
i work at target and spotted the wave the other day there. i remember seeing a commercial a while ago, but forgot to investigate further. it seems like a good deal to me, and what’s $8 a month for refill pads anyway? that’s nothing, people! i went to neutrogena’s website where a $2 off coupon is available for the starter kit. also, they recommend using a facial moisturizer with spf after use. i tend to have dry skin, so i’m hoping that this will help. i’m planning on picking one up in the next few days, especially after all these good reviews!
lannie Says:
hey im 13 and i dont have acne at all i just have a few little bumps on my forehead and a few blackheads. do you think this is a good product for me. my friend has it and she says it works. also what is a good mosturizer i could use?
dinielle Says:
actually its only $7.19 a month after you buy the kit (that comes with 2 weeks of pads) because each refill comes with 30 pads. And I think Lynette is a bit bias because of course she’d rather people buy expensive salon products, since she herself works at a salon.
lily Says:
I love this product sooooo much. Works better than proactiv for me, and it’s very much cheaper. I couldn’t be any happier with the new Wave.
Gina Says:
i just bought the wave about 4 days ago im 17 ive never had bad acne maybe one or two small pimples around my period i love the wave my face is brighter everyone noticed that it glows it looks clean and fresh it feels so soft and smooth and its so easy to use its a great product i bought it at wal-mart for $13 with the 14pads and the refill there has 30pads and the new head for about $7 my skin is also very dry and flaky and the wave leaves it aoft but not oily like alot of cleansers ive used made it oily i think everyone should try it its great and i actually look forward to cleaning my face now
emily Says:
hey:)
i’m 15, and i currently use proactiv.
it worked ok but took a while to see effects, and it doesn’t clear my skin all the way, but it is better
my skin is pretty oily and i usually wash it twice a day
i want to try the wave, but i’m afraid it will make my acne worse, any suggestions?
Angela Says:
i have VERY sensitive skin but i really want to try the wave. i have a few pimples on my face and a bumpy forehead but no acne. would the wave be a good product for me?
mcikey Says:
has anyone else had problems with the lack of foaming? i used water and got a watery mess. it did make my face soft and got rid of a few blackheads. will definatley use again!
leslie Says:
Hey, I’m also thirteen and I want to try the wave, but that comment about your skin being red if you stop using it scared me!! I don’t have “acne” but I have tiny bumps on like the back sides of my cheeks, and I get like a couple small pimples each week. It is soo cute and I really want to try it though…
leslie Says:
Neutrogena tests on animals. that really sucks of them. I don’t know if I’ll buy it now….that is sad!
thebeautybrains Says:
All cosmetic companies directly or indirectly test on animals. The government gives them no choice.
Jessica Says:
Na-uh. I thought Avon, Revlon, Almay, MAC, The Body Shop, and most products from Bath & Body Works and Sephora don’t test on animals?
thebeautybrains Says:
These companies are not any different than any others except that they don’t use raw materials that have already been tested on animals. Nearly everyone in the cosmetic industry says their products are not tested on animals. However, it’s misleading in that all the raw materials they use for their products HAVE been tested on animals. These companies figure since they didn’t directly do the testing, they can tell people they don’t test on animals. They are not lying because they don’t test on animals. They just get someone else to do their dirty work.
Rachel Says:
I just bought the wave today, and I’m very excited to use it. I have mild acne, but a lot of bumps under the skin and all over. Hopefully this product works for me as I am almost 19 and have tried everything else! Also, I have a combination skin type, and my skin has flared-up whenever I’ve used moisturizers in the past, but my skin is always dry after cleansing. Any suggestions?
As for George, I don’t see why men wouldn’t be able to use this. It’s a cleansing product just like everything else.
Kay Says:
I used the wave for a week and a half. I can’t say that it made my skin extremely soft after the first use like some people have said. It did make it a little softer though. My little bumps (not quite noticeable pimples) did not disappear and actually they seemed to flare up slightly after using the wave. I’ve started this regimen from store bought products that I heard about on acne.org After about a week and a half I noticed a big difference in my acne. No new flare ups so far. The only change I did in the “regimen” was not put lotion on my face in the morning because it made my face to oily. I just use clear aloe vera that you would use on a sunburn in the morning to moisturize. If you have acne you should try the regimen, its working for me:-)
Katie Says:
I am only about 13, and I love thiss product! No more dirt, clogged pores, or dead skin cells. It’s small and compact to, which for me is a plus!
I would defenitly recommend it!
amelia Says:
hey guys.

i use the Wave and i’m only 12 but i have what they call “vanity acne.” which, from what i’ve hear from friends and the internet, is a few pimples on forehead and nose. but i still strive for perfection and i found the wave at target for only about 12 bucks, and it WORKS. if you look into other products and read reviews you won’t find anything as good as the Wave! cleared me up in a week or less. as for lathering, you know what i do? i clean for about a minute with the pad then flip it over and reveal an even cleaner, more soapy side. with is i use another gentle scrub daily neutrogena cleaner and an acne cream and acne-preventing concealer and i’m pimple free.
lindsey Says:
Responding to lynette as far as the cost of the product per month, I actually just bought the wave last night and a pack of 30 pads was about 6 dollars, so it’s not much at all once you’ve actually bought the wave itself.
Courtney Says:
Hello everybody! I am a dermatologist and I was reading a few posts about acne “flare ups” after using the wave. This is because you have dirt and oil trapped deep down in your pores and the wave stirs everything up. The acne should be gone in a few days. It is also a good idea to use a light moisturizer after using the wave( or any other product) as having a dry face will cause your skin to produce MORE oil, so moisturizer is your friend! I would recommend the wave to almost anyone, unless your acne is VERY severe or your skin is extremely sensitive. In which case you should consult your dermatologist. Also, I use the wave and I love it!
jenny Says:
i know that the pads have sodium laureth sulfate which is really bad for you and your skin. does anyone have any side effects from this chemical found on the pads?
emily Says:
you may have seen my comment above about wanting to try the wave
well i did.
i just used it for the first time
and omg wow i love it already!!!!
i can already tell it’s starting clear up my black heads, it is super gentle and my skin is already so soft
i used to use proactiv, but it stopped working after about 5 monthes, (aparantly you immune system can become immuned to it?!)
and i’m not going back
so if your not sure, try the wave
it’s wayyyy cheaper than proactiv (that was $50 every 2 months!)
hahaha the wave makes me not want to put on my make up:) lol
Annoynmous Says:
AMAZING! Seriously this leaves your skin clean (like you can not believe)! I have a soft face to start with but this leaves it only believable soft, smooth and clean. I would recommened to anyone to spend the money. It cost me $12 and is worth it!!!
Kristy Says:
I love the wave. I cant find the refills for them. its been a month and i still cant find them. I have been to like 6 stores. Can someone tell me whats going on I want to use my wave again bad.
raine Says:
Hey, so i’ve been using the wave for about 2 months now, and i love it!
only problem is, it stoppped working, changed the batteries, tried everything… i think its cuz water got into it… thats just weird cuz isnt this thing supposed to be waterproof? has this happened to anyone?
thnx
Raine.
olivia Says:
i dont use it that much, but when i do, my skin is so smoohth. so that you don’t waste the pads, flip it over so you can get two uses out of one pad.
Tracy Says:
I just bought this product today and I will say that it has it’s ups and downs. I used it and the soap wasn’t released for a while, it was sort of just a thin film at first, but I rinsed it off and it felt very nice and tingly. I will say that it sort of burned though. I’m not sure why, but maybe it’s because of my sensitive skin or something else. It felt good for 2 minutes and then I started noticing that my skin was becoming dried out. It dried out, but it wasn’t like…turning the skin white or killing cells like usual dry skin does. Over all, I’d give this problem a 4.5/5 It’s good for clearing acne and I’ve been rubbing my face for an hour now SO SOFT!!!
Tiffany Says:
i gave no idea what people are talking about the wave is 10 0r 11 dollars and comes with a 2 week supply of pads and a 30 day refill is only 6 or 7 dollars not 21 or 30 or whateva other people are saying
Zaynab Says:
well i just bought the wave today and im gonna try it. sorta nervous cuz it mite not work and it means i wasted $12 on it! but u never know, ill get back to u guys when i try it ;]
demonanjel117 Says:
i <3 this thing!! n the pads arent all that expensive here in tx. they cost like 7 dollars. ive been using this for 4 months now!
Jan Says:
I have been using the Wave once a day in the shower, and along with my skincare products, my skin has never looked better (I am 58)! The pads here are $7.99 for a 30-day supply, but with the $3.00 coupon on the website, cost $4.99. I think this is a cheap price to pay for the results I am seeing!
Taylor Says:
This is so cool! I just bought it today…and used it like 15 minutes ago…my skin is sooooo soft! I hope it takes care of the acne…cause otherwise my mom is gonna be really mad that she wasted all that money on it…
Ali Says:
I’m glad that it has worked for most of you ladies, but I don’t know if you’re posting this after your first time using it or if you’ve used it for a while. For me, my skin felt amazing the first time I used it so I started using it every night before bed. I have NEVER had dry skin and used to have acne…a week later I had a little dry patch on my chin, and the next day my entire nose and chin were dry and peeling and looked as if I had a sunburn. Had to buy a $50 moisturizer to repair the damage. Be cautious! I would never give this product to my best friend because of the damage it has done.
Brenda Says:
I’ve Heard a lot od things about the neutrogena wave. But i would like to know it help get rid of white spots on the face, because i have some. Reply if you know anything.
THANKS!
Lyndsie Says:
i just bought the wave a couple days ago and it is doing wonders! my skin is so soft and raidiant and i love it. defiatley an A plus. and it would only cost 6 dollars a month because that is how much the refils are and there are about 30 days in a month. i dont see how you get $21.
miranda Says:
hey wow you got me so so so pumped to try the wave im gonna get it tomarrow and i cant wait see i have like 7 little bumps on my forhead 100000 on my chin and like 6 on my cheek and ive used like oxy and clean and clear face washes and the first 2 weeks it seemed to work but then it took a turn for the worst and acuatly made me break out worse so never use clean and clear and oxy. thanks for listening and but i might be wronge about the washes… but i hope this product will help get rid of my little bumps and some dry skin!
Miranda
miranda Says:
oh and before i forget ill get back to yall!
Miranda
marie Says:
hi, i was wondering if the wave would be good 4 me… I’m 11 and I have some pimples and bumps on my face. I’ve heard good thing and bad things about the wave. Should I use it or not?
marie Says:
puh-leez tell me! I’m begging you!!!
Marie
thebeautybrains Says:
Marie,
You could try the wave. There really shouldn’t be a problem and it might work for you. However, you should try a store brand product like Clearasil first. It may be just as effective.
good luck!
Samantha Says:
To save on the pads, I just flip the pad around to the other side and get a second use out of it before I toss it…
Nat Says:
The first time I bought the wave starter kit I loved it and it worked for about 2 or 3 months. I used it over the sink for about a month and then started using it in the shower everyday. Then, the wave stopped working, not on my face but it physically would not vibrate anymore. So i bought another starter kit and this time it stopped working after a month. It’s very disappointing because it did wonders for my skin but it should not quit working after such a short period of time. Has anyone else has these issues??
KOJ Says:
Bought it yesterday. My skin didn’t feel soft after I used it. Instead my face became red and dry. I don’t know why. Maybe if i use it several time effect will be better.
Nat, did u change battery when it stopped vibrating?
Sofia Says:
I got The Wave today and i used it once so far… i keep hearing about this stuff about exfoliating and i keep wondering if in the long term this is good from your skin? I would recommend it unless this whole exfoliating stuff is true… but other then that my skin feels soft and awesome. also that stuff with dimonds or wat ever that girl was saying sounded a little harsher then the wave, wouldnt y’ all agree?
Nat Says:
KOJ,
Yes, I originally thought that was the problem too but I went and bought brand new batteries and found that the battery wasn’t the problem, it was the wave itself. Thanks though.
Shana Says:
Hey Everyone
I’m 16 and have been using the wave for 3 days now every night. I had some acne on my forehead, cheeks, and chin and so far I would say the product has been working very well for me. I have sensitive skin so I do limit the time I use it for however. I would recommend the product. Thanks everyone for all the reviews.
Deanna Says:
Several users have been commenting on how the cost is 21$ a month for the refill pack. I don’t know about anybody else, but my local CVS carries a 30-pack of refills for 8$. So basically after you buy it, it’s 8$ per month. And it really is great. I have rosacea and this has helped decrease the appearance of broken blood vessels so much!
Cassandra Says:
I have been using the wave for 1 week now and I had moderate acne but they were the big kind that last for quite a few days. I noticed right away that they were going away faster and not coming back. Also it is so soft and much smoother. Much cheaper than paying for Proactive or some other system that doesn’t even work! Since I have only used it a week I hope it continues to work!
Sage Says:
With this link you can get a coupon for $2.00 off the Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser!

Lyz Says:
i got the wave about two weeks ago. it started working fine and i noticed that my face was smooth after using it. im fifteen and usually never get zits. but these past couple days ive noticed a few on my cheek bones and my face gets really dry. my face has never been like this until ive used the wave.
Jackie Says:
I tried the Wave and so far I like. I’m not sure if it would be good to do everyday-maybe once a week. I like the idea of subbing regular pads and cleansers to keep the costs down.
Do you think it would be good for an 8 year old?? My daughter has bumps on her forehead which I believe are from sweating and not cleaning her face so well. Does anyone think the wave may be too much on a young face???
Leah Says:
I’m fourteen and use the wave. I have moderate outbreaks of acne, but nothing severe. I do have lots of little bumps on my forehead. The wave did not do anything for my acne, however it has been a quick and convenient way to clean my face.
Jackie- I think that the wave is gentle enough to use on her face, plus its kind of fun! I’d say give it a try, however it may be too gentle if she’s getting some acne
Mabel Says:
Hey there,
So I’m a 15 year old teenager and I’ve had the Wave for about a week now. I noticed most of you in here has had nothing but positive things to say. Don’t get me wrong it did make my skin very, very smooth, but it had not cleared my skin of pimples. I have lots of bumps on my forehead and along my hair-line with some pimples. I have to use a cleanser followed by the Wave.
It is really fun to use though!
unknown Says:
I am twelve years old and have a little acne on my nose and forehead, and most of it is around my hairline. What really bugs me is the acne scars. If i purchase the wave and use it daily, will it help the scars too?
Karen Says:
Gosh, Nat: I’m the one who did the review of this product months and months ago and mine is still going strong! I think you should call and speak to a customer service representative for Neutrogena. Usually, they figure out a way to compensate you.
Angela Says:
Is there anyway to get the wave to lather up more?? it doesn’t seem to lather up right.
Angela Says:
Are you supposed to rinse your face right after you use the wave??
Andrea Says:
Im 63, and Im on my third month with the wave. I do not use daily about 3X a week. I have noticed such a difference. After reading all these reviews if something works well, who cares about price. No, it dosnt suds up for me, but light enough that it is easy to rinse off after. I do wait about 2 minutes before applying moisturizer. I would say this is an excellent product for all ages.
.
Ivan Says:
Ummmmmmm, I was wondering if the wave was for guys 2! Please answer
thankx
Angela Says:
I don’t see why guys couldn’t use the wave.
Angela Says:
This is my fifth day on the wave and it has cleared up the pimples on my nose but not quite the ones on my forehead. Why is that?? I’ll wait longer and see…
Sarena Says:
Will the wave get rid of those tiny un-blossumed pimples on my forhead? Is it worth my time?
zella Says:
you do not need to use this everyday.
as an exfoliator, it can be used 2-3 times a week.
with daily use of a “regular” cleanser.
i originally thought this product would be cost-effective - as opposed to buying cheaper cleansers every month.
the unit & pads it comes with is about $12.
don’t buy the refills with the product - inside the wave is a coupon for $3 off refills.
the refills are about $7-$8.
add the coupon -$3.00… it’s about $4-$5 for the refills (30 pads).
so really it’s about $17-$18 for two months or longer (if you don’t use them every day).
this is a good deal, and it does make skin smoother!
kelly Says:
has anyone tried the clean and clear eraser. i bought mine yesterday its good. but from what im reading i want to tried this one as well.
please help!!!
acne sufferer Says:
O.K.
im 14 and i have literally tried EVERYTHING!!! Proactive is the absolute worst stuff you can buy, i have acne and proactive worked for about 1 month and then it just dried out my skin and my skin began to peel so bad that i was embarrassed to go outside. i have tried prescriptions and over-the-counter items and everything just doesn’t seem to work. so someone with acne, does the wave work on acne?? my skin is not that sensitive but can be. i just need ot know if it can work or not.
THANKS
E Says:
kelly: i was thinking about buying the clean and clear blackhead eraser but i couldnt find any reviews on it. could you share some more of your opinions after using it?
i was going to buy the clean and clear one instead of the wave because the first few reviews i read elsewhere seemed to not recommend it because it didn’t foam and could cause more acne. but it seems to have worked pretty well for most of the ppl here. i think i’m going to buy one.
Aly Says:
i was about to buy the clean and clear blackhead eraser when i saw the WAVE. its so much cuter and it practically does the same thing! I’ve been using the WAVE for about a week now and my skin is already 10 times better!! you DO feel the results after one use and you don’t need to use any other cleansers along with the WAVE. it helps with acne, blackheads, and smooths your skin. i love the WAVE and i couldn’t recommend it enough
Aly Says:
oh and by the way i only use it once a day but i do use it everyday.
Chance Says:
Yea I’m a guy (15) and I use it and it works great. So guys, go ahead and but because after only one day some of my small acne cleared up and those little bumps on my face all were gone. Highly reccomended!!!
Monica Says:
I bought this for my preteen (10.5yrs) because she has started to get tiny pimples on her forehead and nose this summer - mostly I think due to summer sweat and poor cleansing.
It has been a HUGE hit - she loves using it 2x/day - and her skin began clearing after only a few days. We’ve had it almost a month with no adverse affects. I”ve tried it myself (I’m 40) and have noticeably smoother skin too for way less money than a lot of the lotions/potions I have!
I highly recommend getting the preteens using this as I think it might help establish a really good skin care routine.
Aly Says:
I commented before about how great the neutrogena WAVE was, but now i’m having second thoughts. i stopped using it because it was laving dry patches on my skin, giving me more acne on my nose, and taking off LAYERS of skin off of the sides of my nose. this all happened in one to two days after i commented about how great it was (jinxed?). If you love this product keep using it but if you have sensitive skin i’d suggest not buying it because it can become very irritating.
Donna Renee Says:
I just bought the wave. I really like it because it makes my skin feel soft and smooth. It does keep pimples & zits away. The bad part is that the pads have Sodium Laureth Sulfate, apparently it’s a floor cleaner. Overall I’d give the Wave a 3/5.
Donna Renee Says:
I’d also like to say my friend who has very sensitive skin tried the WAVE, and she had tons of dry spots, and lots of zits. I don’t reccomend this product for the sensitive - skinned!
Heather Says:
A Must-Have!!!!!!!! The wave is Great. I will continue to use this product for a long while. I paid 11.99 for my wave at C.V.S. A COUPON for 2.00 was IN the BOX. I now have 2 coupons for the refill pads. GRREEAATTT!!!!!!!
manda Says:
omg doods i like just like ordered like the like wave and like im like gonna like use it like when i like you know like get it lik yeah yay but my skin is like SUPER like sensitive and so like yah should i like you know like use it? like thanks!
Danielle Says:
I used lots of products but I luv the Wave! its cheap and it works! who wouldn’t love it? washing your face is boring, but the vibrations make it fun! my face felt smooth after using it once!
Ana Says:
hey, I’m 15 years old and I have some blackheads and acne on my nose, my chin, and forehead. I have sensitive skin and I’m thinking of using the wave after all reviews I have read. I hope this products works a lot better than this acne cream that my mom’s dermatologist told me I should use, because that cream makes my skin very flaky. I hope it works!
laura Says:
I am 21, and i just bought the wave today, for $12, and used it in the shower. Who cares if it lathers up a lot, i just want results, on my face: not on the pad. Men can have the same cleansing regimens as women, so it should be fine, Ivan and George. I dont have acne, but i do get these bumps on my forehead.(which my mom used to get too.) My skin seems softer, but i just want the damn bumps gone!!lol.
laura Says:
oh,
And who the hell uses this on their girly part. Thats so sick!!! Buy a B.O.B!
Alison Says:
I just bought this product today after hearing so many good things about it. I used it for the first time tonight and it left my skin feeling and looking like I have never seen it before. My face was so soft and my face seemed to glow. I had some small pimples on my face which had cleared up by the next morning. This product is totally worth the 12.99 that I paid for it….I LOVE it!!!! Thanks Neutrogena for a great product!!
Jenn Says:
so I’ve been deciding on whether or not I should buy this product, but from the good reviews I’ve read, I think I’m gonna get it!
I’ve got really bad acne, and my skin is oily. I wanna get that smooth skin I used to have before puberty kicked in!
george Says:
i was wondering if i could use it on my face…i have oily skin on some parts of my face with blackheads too!!
would this help me be acne free too???
well reply back please
laura Says:
its my 3rd day using it, and my face it broke out even worse than it was before i used it. i just had bumps on my forehead, now i have huge red zits that are painful, and sting. 4 of them, 3 of which are on my forehead, and one on my cheek! i am hoping this is just a stage where it gets worse before it gets better…either way, im gonna keep tryin it for another week. my skin is still soft after i use it, so hopefully this gets better. ive never had breakouts this horrible.
laura Says:
i didnt use the wave last nite, bc my face was so broke out. however, today is the 5th day i used it. my face is still pretty broke out, and i got a new big zit, but the others went down. in the shower i made my boyfriend use it, twice now, and his forehead is also breaking out. is this normal? someone, help!?
Ashley Says:
Hi, I’m 15 and I bought the wave last week. When i first bought the wave i had a problem with the lather, but I rubbed my thumb on it while it was vibrating after I put the water on it and it lathered pretty good, also if you takde the pad off of the wave you can use it more by just rubbing it on you face you get more lather too.
Now about the acne problem i broke out more than before on my chin and on my lower cheeks. It also made my face really red and stung a little bit. Most of my pimples have gone down but this product brings more up. I think it will only get better with time. I used it last nite and most of the ones it brought up went down and only one new one came up. I hope this helps a little but
Ava Says:
well, i bought the wave… but i don’t really like it. because i can’t get a lot of foam out of it unlike what i see on TV. am i using it wrong? i don’t wanna put too much water on it because i’m afraid it’s gonna wash away all the soap. I prefer Olay daily gentle cleansing cloths, only because it makes a lot of foam. help!
kazz Says:
the wave seems like a great product but unfortunately it really dried out my skin and made my face radiate un natural heat
laura Says:
my bumps on my forehead are still there, and my big red zits(caused by the wave) are almost gone. so really all it has done is make my face break out. it does make your face softer, but i wanted clear skin… instead it broke me out worse, worse than i have ever been broke out before, and no one answers any of your questions on this review page either, just to let you know, youre on your own!
Amanda Says:
On the camercials it shows that once you put it under water and turn it on it bubbles up the soap on the pad. It does not do that. I rub my finger on the soap tomake it bubbley more. It works!
Amanda Says:
I just got the wave today! It is so good. Should I moisturize after using the wave. It is an awesome product. Get it.
Amanda Says:
Should I moisturize after using the wave?
Nicole Says:
OMG I just got the Wave and I LOVE IT!!! I tried proactiv for a while and it really didnt work and made my skin feel weird
my skin feels better already!!!!
Karen Says:
After reading all of the comments, I get the impression that many people don’t understand their own skin, or the fact that this is an exfoliant. I would only use such a product once a week or so, because the average person doesn’t need to exfoliate every day. Doing so would only irritate your skin and then you will have a worse problem.
laura Says:
i have known my skin, for 21 years now to be exact… i know that the wave is an exfoliator, however, it does say it is safe to use daily. which i dont, i have been using it every other day now. my big zits (caused by the wave) went down for the most part, and my forehead still has bumps, and i am more prone to breaking out on my forehead now. i have been using it for 2 weeks now.
Adamma Says:
i was excited when i went to try out my wave. it took a while for the actual foam to appear onto my face, and it wasnt like how the commercials made it seem like, but there was foam none-the-less.
the box didnt really say how long you should be using the wave, like how many minutes, so i ussed it for about 6 minutes.
when u finished, i touched my face immediately after. i couldnt believe how SOFT my face was! i ran into my cousins rooom and told her to touch my face as well and she was blown away. so i let her borrow mine. when she was finished, she was super excited, and she went to buy her own.
but, i used it for about a week, and then i stopped because i got lazy, ha. but then my left cheek broke out like crazy.
like, sure, ive had pimples before, but they were borderline never noticeable, and were spread out seperately over my face, but i actually counted; THERE WERE 15+ PIMPLES AND BUMPS ON MY LEFT CHEEK. and ive NEVER before had so many at one time… and never on my cheeks!
but, besides making me break out (a day before school starts, i might add. grr, it made my skin ridiculiously soft, but i suggest you use it every night after you sleep, and dont stop or else you’ll break out horribly.
Anna Says:
hey (:
i’m 14 and i’m from germany. i read the comments. now, i wanna have the wave too. but i can’t find the wave in germany. what a pity!
but.. godd luck with your waves! (:
(i’m sorry if there are any mistakes but i’m not very godd at english)
nicolio-lio Says:
hi ive used many product like clearasil and proactive. most break me out bad within 2 weeks because im allergic to most cleansers. but im not allergic the salicylic acid so this product is great for me. as for people who are breaking out a few days later, its just the acne thats deep down in your pore trying to surface. thats why it gets all inflamed. so just ride it out for a week or so. itll get better.
nicolio-lio Says:
also, no suds doesnt mean it isnt cleaning, the suds dont make the clean face the soap does. the suds just help glide it over your face better.
Vonny Says:
I really want to try this product! Personally, I love all of Neutrogena’s products. I use their Daily Acne Scrub, which worked miracles on my acne when proactiv couldn’t… I’m just looking for something to make my skin less oily… think this would work?
Angela Says:
If you want to make the pad sud up more, use the first side to go over your face once, then flip over the pad and it’ll give more suds.I am clearing up a little better after a month and enjoy the clean feeling i get after i use it.My face doesn’t feel too much softer after i use it, because i have always had virtually soft skin so yeah….but love it!!!
Rebecca Says:
I just tried it tonight and I love it so much! It did make my skin so much softer, I have really sensitive skin and it didn’t irritate it one bit. It will definitely be a part of my daily skin care routine!
Jenn Says:
Mine stopped working after about a week. When I went to change the battery, there was water inside and it had started to corrode the battery. Even once I dried the inside and put in new batteries, it wouldn’t work. I am very disappointed because $12 is a little pricey for an item to work less than 2 weeks!
laura Says:
i have completely stopped using the wave after my face broke out terribly. my face is now back to normal, and so are the bumps on my forehead, but i would rather deal with them and not having those terrible breakouts from the wave, than to have to walk around with big ass puffy zits on my forehead, although i plan on using it maybe once a week bc it keeps my skin soft. i just cant afford to have my face break out since i am signing on to become a model! yaya.
Angela Says:
I have been using the wave for about a month and a half now, and i never use to get pimples on my cheeks, just my forehead, but now i have them on my nose and cheeks, like five on my cheek and four on my nose!!!! help!!!
Ivanna Says:
this product is amazing.
i jsut bought it about 3 days ago and my skin feels soo soft. even some marks on my face from previous pimples have disapered.
i dont have the greatest skin, and this defanetly clears it up. for a 15 year old, i love it/
Ivanna Says:
oh, and to answer the question with the breakouts, mabye your skin is a bit more sensitive and doesnt react well to that particular face wash.
you can buy your own cleansing pads and put your own face wash on it, it will still give you the soft and clear skin.
laura Says:
but if i wanted to use my own face wash from before then why waste the $12 on the wave in the first place?!! i was very disappointed in the wave. i liked it at first, but after 2weeks i couldnt take it anymore, my face looked so much worse, ive never broke out that terrible in my life!!!
Kelsey Says:
Try astringents instead of water, if your acne is bad or you have many blackheads. Works much better than water and it does lather after awhile.
Just make sure you moisturize maybe 5 minutes after.
valeria Says:
i don’t have the wave but my cousin does and i just used it last night and right after the use, my skin felt so smooth and soft,i love the way it makes your skin feel and i’m gunna try it again tonight or later to see what it does next! i also have blackheads on my nose and i’m trying so hard to get rid of them and hopefully this works.
ryan Says:
I’m a dude and I use this every morning and it is amazing. chicks tell me all the time how amazing my complexion is. highly recommended!
valeria Says:
hey it’s me again, and after 4 days of using the wave, it made my skin horrible! i just thought it was gunna make my face smoother! my skin started peeling and it started burning and wow i feel horrible having to go to school like this, but that’s just me, i really thought it was gunna work but i was way off.
Steven Says:
Im a guy, and I just recently got this product, and I’m loving it.
I add my other facial cleanser, and it really works my pores deep.
I love how I can feel my skin tingle when I rinse off the suds.
Its made my skin A LOT less greasy looking, and I got this product for $10.99, and a pack of 30 pads for $8.99.
I’ve tried tons of other products, but this seems to be the best.
Its made my skin so much smoother, and Kinda’ given me some more confidence around girls.
I recommend it to everyone.
I cant wait for other colors to come out in stores.. lol
laura Says:
valerie, ive had a very bad experience with the wave too, so dont feel like youre alone, i had documented the experience on this review site, and no one had the right answers for me. i never break out in acne, i only used it for a normal skin regimen, and it messed my face all up! i had huge painful zits and i continued to use it for 2 weeks then gave up. it never helped. i even cut back on using it but every other day. it still irritated my pores. and my skin is normal. ive never had reactions to anything, other than this, but it did help with the blackheads on my nose, and your skin is a lot softer. but i would not recommend this product.
valeria Says:
yea i hated it, and i rarely ever get breakouts i just wanted my face to get smoother and wanted to try it on my blackheads, but it didn’t work at all for me, i just bought the clean and clear blackhead eraser and i’m gunna try that and see if it works for my blackheads, and hopefully it’s way better than the wave.
Amber Says:
I bought the Wave at Wal- mart and I have had the worse acne for 3 years and now its gone thanks to the wave my skin is softer and smoother. I actually glowed for the first time and I keep getting compliments on how good my skin looks. My dark circles have actually disappeared too. I am so happy with the results and I have been using it for only a week. I highly recommend it. Hope it works
Tamara Says:
I understand that the price of using the wave on a daily basis may seem a little steep, but it is honestly the best at home treatment I have ever used on my face. I do not have acne, but I seem to have permanent blackheads on the sides of my nose. Since using the wave I have NO blackheads, have not had a breakout once, and even my pores are noticeably smaller. Trust me the wave is amazing!
Chels Says:
Hey. i hava a solution. i got my Wave about three months ago. I started using it, at the sink. It worked great completly cleared my skin. Then i started using it in the shower, in a month the vibrattions stopped. Here’s how to fix your Wave.
1. open battery compartment.
2.take battery out.
3. use a clean towel, wipe this inside of the compartment dry.
4.replace the battery with a new one, durrecell is best.
5.close this compartment.
6.turn the power button on.
7.there will be no vibrations, but just make sure its on.
8. go do something, and take the wave with you. After about 2 minutes of silence. Your Wave will turn on and start vibrating.
9.You can now use your Wave, if this happens again in a few weeks. Repeat step 6 and 7.
10. Remember to change your batteries when they go dead.
HOPE THIS HELPS!
AND WORKS FOR YOU!
TRY IT OUT!

so i am thinking about buying it but i only have a problem with oily skin and i have a lot of the like under-the-skin pimples. they are just little bumps for a while but they hurt when pressure is put on them and usually will turn into pimples later. Does the wave get rid of those?

If you’re a teen, understand that acne doesn’t only come from dirty skin. Hormones and diet also play a large role. You should ask a dermatologist what you should avoid. For me it’s chocolate(I love chocolate). Also try to sleep regularly and not too late. If you sleep at very different times, then you have a good chance that you will break out which is why many people get acne while traveling on airplanes. As a teen, you can only hope that this product will reduce the amount of acne you have. There is no miracle solution that will zap pimples and give you super model skin. Hope this helps!

Hey everybody
I’m thirteen years old and I have moderate acne not awful but ya I do get some on my chin, nose, and forehead.
I’m probably going to Target tonight to buy the Wave…
I’m kinda nervous about what the results are going to be but after reading most of the comments on this site, I’d say that I think its going to work well. Wish me luck!! -Jenna

Hi,
I’m 27, just got off accutane about 6 months ago due to nothing else helping my skin. Of course, I am one of the lucky few that will have to repeat the treatment because while my skin isn’t as bad, it’s kinda going back to where it started.
Anyways, that said, I also have super sensitive skin, with an oily and dry mix which doesn’t like moisturizer… I am allergic or have reactions to most products (I don’t burn in the sun or anything though) so I tend to buy things and they’ll either work for a few days or not at all. I purchased the Wave out of sheer desperation, I am vegan and Nutrogena is not a good company for vegans. However, I ran out of choices for my lifestyle and broke down and got one since everyone said the damned things actually worked.
What do you know, it does, which is shocking and I use mine twice a day since it’s supposed to be gentle enough for even that, so far so good. My bumpy whiteheads are gone, and my face is super smooth. I’ve still got some healing blemished areas which are going away quickly.
Due to the severity of my skin condition and how crazy I was going I put a little mini super regime together for my face for the time being. I start by using the wave, then using some of Biore’s heating deep pore cleanser (my brother gave me some to try), then I use the Bare Minerals Bare Vitamins stuff, spot on some Nutrogena Benzoyl Peroxide on the two biggies on my cheek, then use my Boscia moisturizer, so far so good everything is healing quickly.
The first night I got the wave I used it alone and it did help, I just had to get a little extreme because I couldn’t stand it anymore. Once things clear up I’ll update to just using the wave and let you know.
Oh and if anyone can recommend an excellent vegan cleanser I’d be interested in trying it (provided I’ve yet to do so). I’d like to use the wave itself but maybe make my own pads, you know, cruelty free stuff.
Cheers all!
