So are normal spf products anti-aging too or is the above combination special..? I want anti-aging products my eyes, but everything is so expensive. Aloe vera helped me get rid of some of my wrinkling, but I want something stronger.

Every SPF product with high enough and stable anti-UVA protection is anti-aging, especially in combination with antioxidants . But it’s the best for prevention, unfortunately it does’t remove or reduce wrinkles which you already have.

You do not save $118 using Vichy versus Lancome. Lancome product is 1.6oz while Vichy is 1oz. Although still cheaper it is nowhere to the magnitude stated in article.

@Anna: You’re right if you’re comparing the cost per ounce of the two products. But if you’re just comparing straight up purchase price, a jar of Vichy costs $47 while Lancome costs $165: The difference is $118. So if you’re going to buy one versus the other, that’s the difference out of your pocket. (Now, if Lancome has a 1 ounce size that I’m not aware of, that’s a different story!) I hope that explains the point I was trying to make. Thanks for your comment!

It amazes me when I read articles like this that fail to note one little interesting bit of information. L’oreal owns L’ancome, among many others.
Most large cosmetic companies are owned by even larger ones. I just think that in a comparative piece it would be interesting to note that while we are comparing the apples and oranges we are also comparing the apples and apples. Or l’oranges and l’oranges.

@Joyce: Perhaps you didn’t read the original post on MSNBC, but we clearly called out the following: “Consider two anti-aging products made by L’Oreal…” So BOTH Lancome and Vichy are owned by L’Oreal. The link is in post if you’d like to check it out.
