Sounds like a pen being slapped in a hand. No idea how it relates to the show.

Nice guess Chris but our show is entirely digital – no pens are employed in the production of our show. Does anyone else have a guess?

Is the mystery sound a part of your theme tune at beginning of each podcast?

    • Randy Schueller August 19, 2014, 8:36 am

Rootz: Sorry but no. Our opening music doesn’t include any such percussive sounds. But thanks for playing! Who’s next?

I guess it is nail clipping. But I have no clue, how it is related to the show. (Except of obvious association: nice nails as a part of beauty). If it would be teeths flossing, I would know. ;-)

I am you big fan from Czech Republic (sorry for my poor English). I found your web and podcast few weeks ago – thanks to your book, that caught my attention on Amazon. So I bought it, read it during one night and I love it. Now I am listening to podcasts. It is quite difficult to me to underestand, but I love it even more than the book.

Thank you for making all this!

Yes! I have found the relation to the show! In episode 28.

    • Randy Schueller August 19, 2014, 7:16 pm

Don’t keep us in suspense, Hanka. What did you find in episode 28 that makes you think the sound is nail clipping?

  • Phil August 19, 2014, 7:21 pm

Wasn’t there an episode where you talked about someone creating a natural exfoliant using their toenail clippings (ewww) or was that one of my very strange dreams…
Hanka (above) is right, though, it must be nail clipping.

  • Phil August 19, 2014, 7:36 pm

The link must be Mrs Romanowski’s supersonic hearing powers that make her ears catch even the slightest sounds of a certain someone clipping their nails. … which must be a terrible condition to live with, since the sound of someone clipping their nails totally freaks her out LOL
But Hanka definitely won this one!

  • Phil August 19, 2014, 7:46 pm

Ooops, mixed up supersonic and ultrasonic. Mrs Romanowski obviously suffers from the latter.

  • Hanka August 20, 2014, 4:06 am

Btw, I understand Mrs Romanowski, I hate the sound of nail clipping too. And I can hear my husband clipping his nails even through three close doors. That’s why I knew immediately. But after listening to episode 28 and thinking about man clipping his nails in taxi, I am about to lift a ban of nail clipping at our home. May be, that this was only another poor guy, whose wife forbidden him to clip his nails at home…

I’ll never be able to listen to Sweet Adeline again without hearing Perry warbling in the background :-)

  • Isabel August 21, 2014, 10:57 am

I’m guessing just by the sound XD.. It sounds like a ping pong ball when hitting the table. It relates to the show because Perry is doing exercise? :-P .. I have no idea. Happy 44th anniversary!!!. I like the number 4. I was born on October 4th and my husband in November 4th. The number 44 is double special. I loved the song, you should uploaded to spotify so we can hear it regularly.

Today I discover that Sarah Bellum is Perry’s wife. O_O

    • Randy Schueller August 21, 2014, 11:08 am

That’s a good guess, Isabel, because Perry and I both LOVE to play ping pong. (But unfortunately it’s wrong.)
