    I thought you might be interested in this. For anyone who ever thought that the cosmetic industry is unregulated, this is what ingredient lists in a truly unregulated industry look like. These are two products that a client for me to use on their dog (I am a professional dog groomer). These are the lists on the bottles.

    Davis 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide Shampoo
    “Benzoyl Peroxide, Reverse Osmosis Purified Water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine,Surfactant Blend, Acrylic Copolymer, Propylene Glycol USP, pH Adjuster”
    Davis Oatmeal Leave-On Conditioner
    “Colloidal Oatmeal, Aqueous Solution of Guar Hydroxpropyltrimonium Chloride, Germaben II, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Bromide, Preservative, Cationic Polymer Solution, Cetyl Alcohol, Apple Fragrance, Purified Water”
    And the sad thing is Davis is an extremely reputable brand and is frequently prescribed by vets. Lots of brands won’t provide us with any ingredient info at all.

    What a mess! Maybe the pet care industry will be the next one that will be challenged to have better regulations.
