    Hi Brains,

This isn’t really a chemistry question, but here goes. I have a history of sensitivity to salicylic acid. I have rosacea. I also use retinol (which I painstakingly adjusted my skin to). I recently started using a sunscreen that is cosmetically perfect for me. But there is a little burn when I apply it. Puzzled, I checked the ingredients, and it has salicylic acid as like the sixth ingredient (butyloctyl salicylate). Can my skin adjust to this or do I have to start my search from scratch for a cosmetically perfect sunscreen?

    Thanks, Sarah

I should clarify–I’m not allergic to salicylic acid, it just causes irritation.
