The Aqua Glycolic Cleanser was recently recommended to me by the dermatologist’s office. The directions say to rub it on your face while dry, then wet, and then to rinse off. From what I’ve read about Glycolic Acid in the past (mostly from Paula’s Choice) is that it’s ineffective in a rinse-off product, which makes sense to me. Will the AHA do it’s thing if I rub it on my dry face for say, about a minute? The cleanser has 11% Glycolic Acid, and I’m not sure of the ph. Here are the ingredients: Purified Water, Glycolic Acid, Ammonium Glycolate, Cetyl Alcohol, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Sorbitol, Stearyl Alcohol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.

I can’t find the pH anywhere on line but their other products are in the range of 4 to 4.5 which is a little on the high side. Plus, since it’s a rinse out, it’s bound to be less effective than a leave on cream.

It may provide some benefit but you’re likely to get better results from a leave on cream at a slightly lower pH.

Thank you for the response! I’m also looking forward to your article on Lavender oil/extract as it really does appear in so many products, including stuff for babies.

Washes by nature are less effective than leave on topicals.
