    Hello,

I’m interested in Bioassance’s products, especially their Squalane + Vitamine C Rose Oil.

    COMPLETE INGREDIENT LIST:

Squalane, Pistacia Lentiscus (mastic) Gum, Rosa Damascena Flower Extract, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides

They say, “Brightens with an oil soluble Vitamin C 50x more powerful than ascorbic acid”

I already use The Ordinary’s squalane. Is this product any better than other Vit C products? It’s expensive at $72 per ounce.

Thanks to everyone on the forum! I learn so much here. And, of course, thank you so much Randy.

The functional ingredient here is the vitamin C derivative. Ascorbic acid is the form of the vitamin C that actually provides skin benefits so other forms (including their tetrahexadecyl version) have to be converted to ascorbic acid on the skin. That process makes ascorbic acid esters LESS effective, not more. Unless they can provide evidence showing why theirs is “50x more powerful,” I don’t see any reason to spend more on this this product.
