Is there any benefit to using color safe shampoo on hair that isn’t colored? I have red/brown hair and have read that to prevent my natural color from becoming dull I should avoid sulfates and maybe even use a color locking shampoo and conditioner, is this true?

Probably not. Some color locking shampoos are designed to keep hair DYES from fading which won’t have any effect on your natural hair color. Other “color safe” shampoos are just conditioning formulas which will help but don’t really have that much extra benefit.

Avoid sulfates if you want but there’s no data that I’m aware of that show sulfates strip more color than other cleansing ingredients.
