Will a very slippery conditioner that glides through hair work better compared to a conditioner that is more difficult to distribute through hair?

Not necessarily. If it’s a rinse out conditioner the ability of the ingredients of remain on the hair after rinsing is more important.

I think I know what you mean. I remember using a specific hair mask that didn’t contain any kind of polyquaternium compounds but it was really slippery and it was easy to detangle in shower. Once dry, my hair was unmanageable and really tangled, so the slippery ingredients must have gone down the drain.
I now usually use conditioners with behentrimonium chloride and they work really well for me.
I’m specifically wondering what you think of the following 2 conditioners. The first goes through my hair very easily. The second seems like it might have a little bit more difficulty distributing through my hair. Please let me know what you think if you get a chance.

Water, Stearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Cetyl Alcohol, Bis-Aminopropyl Dimethicone, Fragrance, Benzyl Alcohol, Disodium Edta, Histidine, Panthenol, Panthenyl Ethyl Ether, Citric Acid, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Yellow 5, Methylisothiazolinone, Red 33.

Aqua (Water), Cetearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Amodimethicone, Fragrance, Isopropyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Benzoic Acid, Trideceth-6, Lycium Barbarum Fruit Extract, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Mentha Piperita Leaf Extract (Peppermint Leaf Extract), Potassium Hydroxide, Hexadimethrine Chloride, Limonene, Cetrimonium Chloride, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Oil (Rosemary Leaf Oil), Citronellol, 2-Oleamido-1,3-Octadecanediol, Maltodextrin, BHT

The basic conditioning ingredients in both look like they should do a good job.
