Does nail polish expire? I don’t mean does it get thick and gooey. I mean does it lose its ability to stick?
Last year I had several new bottles of nail polish and they stayed on without chipping or rubbing off for weeks. Those same bottles of nail polish are now a year older and the polish rubs off or chips after only a few days. The polish still goes on as thin and easy as it ever did. It just doesn’t stay on nearly as long this year as it did last year.
It’s certainly possible that nail polish can change over time and not work the same way. Typically products like this are tested to be stable for several years so to see it changing after 1 year seems rather sudden. I wonder how old the bottle was when you bought it. If you’re really interested you could contact the company they maybe able to date the product using a code on the bottle.
