I have noticed when I put my liquid foundation on (Yves Saint Laurent Fuision Ink Foundation SPF18) at the beginning of the day it matches my skin tone perfectly; however, by the end of the day it looks a little orange or darker. Does that mean my foundation is oxidizing? Are certain ingredients in foundations likely to cause this? Do all foundations do this?
Hmmm. Not sure. The pigments typically used in foundations are iron oxides and they don’t oxidize. Some pigments (like red 27) shift color with pH so that could conceivably cause a change during the day. It could also be that oily skin is darkening the pigments. Has anyone else out there had this problem?
