I use a permanet Hair straightener by Salerm Cosmetics. It is the only product that does not bother my scalp.

    The ingredients are these:

Aqua, cetearyl Alcohol, Amonium Thoglycolate, Glycerin, Polysorbate 60, Cetyl Alcohol, Parafinum Liquidum, Hydrolized Keratin, Bisabolol, Potassium Stearate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Glycol Stearate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Triethanolamine, Amonium Hydroxyde, Diammonium Dithiodyglycolate, Parfum.

What is the actual straightening chemical in this product?

The Amonium Thoglycolate is the primary agent (it works with Amonium Hydroxyde, Diammonium Dithiodyglycolate.) These are the same ingredients used in perms.

I’m glad to hear it doesn’t bother your hair but be careful because it CAN cause hair breakage. In fact, the Suave line using this ingredient has been discontinued due to complaints about hair breakage.
