I was wondering, do heat protection sprays offer more benefits compared to using a leave in styling cream/serum prior to hear styling? If so, could I layer a heat protection spray with other products? I’m not sure if they are worth buying or how to incorporate them into my routine if I plan to use heat on my hair.

I know silicone prevent heat damage, but should I look for other ingredients? Do heat protection sprays minimize the amount of drying time?

I’ve looked at a few heat protection sprays and many contain alcohol, which seems counterintuitive to me. Other heat protection sprays have similar ingredients compared to leave in conditioning sprays.

One “blow dry spray” that I was looking at has good reviews. These are the ingredients:
Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dimethiconol, Sodium Laneth 40 Maleate/Styrene Sulfonate Copolymer, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Parfum/Fragrance, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernal Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil.
