If you’re concerned about it, you can certainly use deodorants (which do not have aluminum) instead of antiperspirants (which do have aluminum).
Aluminum is not as widely used in other personal care products.My mom has had breast cancer twice. I am at risk and am followed closely at a world renowned medical center. No one at the breast center where I get my care has EVER advised me to avoid aluminum or any other ingredient in antiperspirants (or any other cosmetic ingredient, for that matter), and I don’t give it a second thought. I am 10 years past the age when my mom had her first cancer, I use aluminum based antiperspirant daily, and I am cancer free so far (not that that means anything scientifically, as you have to look beyond one piece of data if you want meaningful evidence of anything either way).
This is some sound logic… Aluminum is a metal. It has a unique property of being water resistant and light weight. That is why it’s used in a plethora of beauty products, and things like marine electronics, cars, and cans. Lets focus on your question, which I am going to paraphrase, “Is it toxic?” Well, logically, the body is more than 60% water. Blood is 92% water. The brain and muscles are 75% water, and bones are about 22 percent water. ….. I am pretty sure applying a product to a gland with ingredient that is hydrophobic to your body isn’t a way to be safe from cancer. But I personally would rather smell nice, and avoid aluminum in everything else.
