    Hi The Beauty Brains,

Me again. I was just browsing face cleansers in Walmart and found a

CLEAN & CLEAR(R) Cleansers advantage(R) 3-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser 5 oz. $6.27. which  could exfoliate skin, treat pimples, and help prevent breakouts. It seems great because it could clean and exfoliate face at the same time. However, is it really a quality product? And I heard my friends saying that Clean Clear product is a little irritating.

Ingredients: Active: Benzoyl Peroxide (5%) – Acne Medication. Inactive: Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Carbomer, Fragrance, Glycerin, Menthol, Mineral Oil, Petorlatum, Polyethylene, Potassium Polyphosphate, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Sulfate, Sodium Xylenesulfonate, Titanium Dioxide, Water, Zinc Lactate.

    Thanks a lot!

The mechanism that makes Benzoyl Peroxide effective against acne also makes it drying and irritating to skin. The mineral oil and petrolatum are there to offset the drying effect.
