I’ve been hearing a lot lately about konjac sponges like this one, which are apparently pretty trendy in Korea at the moment, and I’m wondering if it actually provides any real added benefit over just using a washcloth. Also, for the versions that include ingredients like charcoal and clay, would there be any benefit from those ingredients if you just rub them on your face for a second and rinse them off? It seems like a fun little novelty, but maybe not for the price if they’re not any more effective than anything else and you’re meant to throw them out after three months.

    Thanks in advance.

Whoa I’m really behind on this trend! Konjac sponges have just started turning up in my local beauty product aisles. Of course I had to try one and I tell my friends it feels like alien fingers massaging your face. They are surprisingly gentle but I too wonder if there’s any difference or benefit over a nice cotton washcloth or my clarisonic brush?

I doubt there is but to be honest I forgot to follow up and look into it.
